Duratracs! Or better yet you should go and look at tire replacements yourself and decide which tire you like best.

I've never liked Bfg ats my brother has them on his tacoma in a 295 75 16 and the absolutely suck in snow, rain and mud. I have duratracs on mine and there is no comparison between the two IMO

I really like the tread pattern on the Duratracs, how do they wear and ride?

I haven't tried them on my vehicles, but am fixing too soon. My buddies have them, and they ride nice, and last longer than the BFG, or Nitto mud tires.

I've got about 15,000 miles on mine and they still look brand new.

This what they look like aired down to 15 psi with 10k miles on them

    C rated 256/75/16

Absolutely the best all around tire I have ever used on my Tacoma.

amazing in soft dunes, hard packed and of course asphalt is a smooth confident ride even in rain.

This is just before the trip. 9k+ on them.

You don't have to search very hard for lots and lots of articles proving this. From the compounds in the tire itself to the tread pattern and lack of siping. A lot of it comes back to when people do their tire reviews. Almost all of them are done within the first few weeks of ownership when people are still on the soft grippy outer layer. Give that tire 15k miles and they become terrible in the snow or ice. Only people that argue with that are people who haven't run newer AT's to compare.

You don't know what you don't have.

I stole this from the FJ Cruiser forum, they borrowed it from the original website which doesn't seem to be around. I read the review in it's entirety before the site disappeared, it was great. Peterson's and 4Wheeler magazine ran the article and had people on site. They called it one of the best tire reviews they had been a apart of.

I tried to line up these scores, you can also check out the results plus video on this site:

Sorry to break this to you... If you've driven on BFG ATs and think they suck... Its the driver not the tire...

    Tests results do not lie.

Both my non professional driver seat test and the ones performed with actual important data prove that is it indeed not the best tire for the money on the market in a range of conditions... soooooo

    Cool story bro.

Just look at the tire for a simple objective answer.
    Poor siping
Poor dual water channeling grooves on the face (many obstructions which dont aid in water evacuation)
The side water channels are so much of a maze, the water won't be pushed out as easily as it should be.... Channeling water away from the tread face should be a priority, this doesnt mean trowing a wall of another tread block in the path like bfg does.

Lugs are spaced fairly close for ofrroad, yet far enough to not be close to a constant contact patch on road.

Lugs are symmetrical so there's not much alternative grip....if all the terrain is the same size and shape rocks that line up with these lugs u are perfectly set for grip.
I'd prefer asymmetrical lugs/blocks for altering terrain

Its like the engineers met on a Monday morning after a weekend of binge drinking, surrou red themselves with donuts, 1 brought their kid to work and had his leggos scattered on the table. Then an engineer dropped a glazed donut on a pile of the kids leggos that just happend to have more of 1 block design than others in it, leggos stuck to donut...... Engineers said, "hey look its a pattern, can we submit this to the boss and go back to sleep"?

And thus became the bfg all terrain....... Nobody wanted them for a while.... Then bfg decided to give a shit ton of them away to racers because they couldnt sell them...... promoted the shit out of the races, and there ya go..... History was made.

 Very creative... Fact is many of us have driven them through all kinds of conditions for many many years, Yea I agree they aren't mudders, but will out perform mudders in the snow.

I assure you and the other nay sayers... that I can run them on my Taco and follow you any where you go... (exempting muddin).

You can like them all you want. they are still rubber, black, and hold air very well. Saying your a better driver off road than someone else, just because of the tires you run, is laughable. And...there's a lot of reason to like them. I mean....their commercials kick ass. They have hot chicks, loud music, and cool stunts. Other manufactures put their money into actual R&D to make a better tire.

That's not what I said... Read it again... read it 2 or 3 times, if that's what it takes.

I said if you drove on these tires and think they suck, then maybe you need to look at your driving.

Then I said, I can go anywhere you can on your choice of ATs, with the BFG AT.

No malice meant... just my observation.
