This is an officer in our military:confused::confused::confused:

I don't want to rant either but the a-holes growing up today have no respect ...but on a brighter note....my son, his son and grandson were at a diner for breakfast (on Friday) and there was a young man in his Air Force uniform and his Dad in the booth next to them. My son's 5 yr. old grandson kept staring at the Airmen and asked my son why he was wearing a costume. My son explained to both his boys that the Airmen was serving his country in the military and they should thank him for his service. When the Airmen and his Dad were getting up to leave, both boys and my son got up and thanked the Airmen for his service:thumbsup: with the five yr. old giving him a high five:D. When my son went up to pay his bill, he was told the Father of the Airmen was so impressed by my son's reaction and answers to the kids and the respect they showed to his son that he paid their bill :oldglory:...I wish I knew who they were to give them a THANK YOU ...There still are good people in this world:D

I was in the supermarket getting some food supplies for the storm(you know bread, milk, and toilet paper:eek:) and the woman in front of me pulled out the old Access card and when it rejected some items that weren't covered she started bitchin' and yelling. After finally paying for her extras she left. I paid and when I got out to the lot she was just getting into her Mercedes:eek: That couldn't have been more then a couple of years old...and we probably paid for that too:annoyed:

Nice story and kudos to your son and grandson.

I always offer to pay for a serviceman or service woman when I am in Starbucks. Always brings a smile to their face. I am determined to never let then be treated the way us Vietnam Vets were when we returned home.

Military service to ones country places a sacrifice on their family that should be admired.

Morning Tom:wave:...A little respect goes a long way:D...I even try to thank some of the old timers wearing their Korean and Viet Nam Vet hats...brings a smile to their face. Gives me a good :Dfeeling too.

Yep, that system definitely needs an audit and overhaul. Most you see like that never worked an honest day ... They've just figured out how to manipulate the system and abuse it :puke:

That's what upsets me most about this latest show of disrespect that has made it onto the web. Vietnam Vets got treated horribly once already due to politics/attitudes of that era. Most everyone with military service or knowledge since then is fully aware of that, or so I assume :notsure: . For that Air Force member to display such disrespect to a symbol of all POW/MIA regularly recognized and associated with Vietnam Vets is incomprehensible to me. Sadly, I'd be willing to bet she doesn't understand why everyone is so upset and thinks "it was just a joke."

Guess I ranted anyway, but it was loosely controlled compared to my initial thoughts on the matter last night.

Hi Rob, I have always tried to instill in my kids the true meaning of respect.. it's amazing when I see how much they have retained... My oldest son and I bumped heads and disagreed on just about everything when he was growing up, but now that he has a family of his own:p...my wife tells him he is just like his father:D and he tells her he is NOT....but when she calls him "Ken" he doesn't argue the fact:laughing:...

But at least in a round about way you're getting some of your tax dollars back. The government takes it from you, gives it to her, she gives it to you in form of rent. ... Repeat the process

Nothing much to post. Tires, I bought a set of Michelin M/S last November. So far like them. Wife and I went bathroom re-do fixtures yesterday. Going to gut the whole thing. Tub/surround, vanity, toilet, tall linen, closet, fixtures, etc. After getting quotes from contractors, I'm going to do it myself. Wife will bitch that I'm taking too long, but we will save $10000 - $15000. After retirement May 1st I should have plenty of time. Saw two Bald Eagles last Thursday, one mature, one immature. Would like to get the truck washed, desalted, but still to messy out. Hope everyone has had a good weekend!

Hi Paul, well done on your post. What we spread across several pages You covered in one paragraph. ;)

Dropped some stuff at the landfill yesterday, Eagles all over the place there like it was some kind of buffet. Poor Ravens could only work the edges cause the Eagles were on all the "good stuff." I'd forgotten how many eagles hung out there. :)

Good luck with your bath renovation; you'll have to keep us posted. I want to do our master bath in the next few years. Same concept you're going with.

Sup y'all old folks? How's life treating you?

When I see a service man or woman in uniform I all ways thank them! Much respect for all them them! And the ones on here! I think my one uncle was a Vietnam vet.

I also all ways hold doors open for people. Some times longer than most would! Like long enough for someone to walk 30 to 40 feet. Only thing about it is when someone can't take the damn time to say thank you. I usually say something and some times make a big sean about it. By say out load. ( at least you could have thanked me) or something along those lines. I remember one time I was at five guys and did that. Made the person look like a fool with the place being half full! The person went and sat alone in a corner as far away from everyone as they could, and I got a free drink and fri.

    Afternoon all:
MONEY IN THE BANK Paul!
It could be worse; I COULD BE DOING IT! I ripped mine apart last spring and haven't made too much progress on it since then.
If I had a wife I would probably have had it done a long time ago.
:angrygirl::angrygirl::crapstorm: >Just thinking of that would have been enough!

HE HE! Salt is not good!
Easily washes off the exterior, the undercarriage is harder.
If possible, try to find a carwash that also sprays the underneath of the vehicle, or try to get at what you can with a pressure washer.
The shit they put on the road is murder on vehicles!

Might be worth while to put on rain gear and hose off the underside of the vehicles in the driveway.

I had a water spigot placed in the rear of my garage a few years back to make it easier to wash my vehicles. One of the better upgrades I have done to this old house. ;)

It's easy to do the undercarriage. When the weather warms up I just drive through large puddles like I'm the chauffeur in a getaway car.

Morning all...car wash is the best bet to get the undercarriage done but even that isn't 100%...if it isn't to wet out by Friday(supposed to hit 60*) I just might hit mine with the power washer:D. The biggest problem we have going here now isn't the snow or salt but the "pot holes" some that can damn near swallow a car:eek: it feels like I'm driving an obstacle course trying to avoid the bad ones:facepalm:...to many to miss them all
