No deck plate mod for me. I do have the snorkel which should help since it somewhat forces cold air into it. I also have an airaid intake arm which is quite larger than stock.

    Thanks for the compliment

Mount it vertical by welding a plate between the cans and spare tire. Shit is going to hit some tree branches wheeling in NC and VA... Sometimes I have to put the hi lift in the bed when we hit the trails.

Paul where'd u order the snorkel for our body style trucks how many holes do u have to drill? I know about the one that goes to the air filter box but any more. I would have done had me one but skeptical about drilling into the truck. It's just the matter if I want to drill or not but I've always wanted one though haha.

Look at the few first pages of my build. I believe I showed how to do it..As far as where I ordered it from I do not remember. Pretty easy to find though.

Paul, what if it went across the back diagonally the other direction (base plate on the outside of the bumper and angled inboard). Might only work properly if the spare is center mounted though :notsure:

That way it wouldn't stick out into the trail...

Good idea brent. Maybe change it in the future but it doesn't bother me too bad. I got my old hi lift back so I'm going to see if I can lower the lowering mechanism a bit to get the handle down. Or just pull the handle, chop the handle. .

Thanks Paul and Adam about the snorkel and trasharoo appreciate it I may think about putting a snorkel on and find another front fender to have in case I ever want to take it off which probably will be never. But appreciate on the advice on the hi lift angle too. Went back Paul and looked in ur build answers my question exactly on how many to bore.

Truck is looking great Paul! Can you post a pic of the way the snorkel connects to the airaid intake? I put an Injen intake on mine and was curious if I could hook a snorkel straight to it.

Been pretty quit in here lately. . Got my shift knob to my crawl box from inchworm. Just haven't started the install. The two snow storms set me back. Since my son is due in less than 30 days looks like I'm going to install the box sometime later.

Got a bunch of parts in my garage just waiting. Family comes first!
