More than likely as dealer-provided "valet/spare/emergency" key. For gen1, may work everything.

Just the essentials and no extra fluff.
It only opens the doors. Put in in your wallet in case you lock your keys in the truck.

This! I tried it just to see if it would actually work, because it felt so flimsy... and snap-ola! Glad I didn't need it in an emergency. I would say it's a novelty item, not for real use. But seriously, do not count it to work. More than likely if you're not careful it will end up broken off inside the key hole.

Not the best design but a good idea I guess. When the dealer showed it to me and told me what It was I just shoved it back in the owners manual. No way I wanted to pay to get it removed out of the door.

My thoughts exactly I rather have a regular door key than that plastic thing
