Ugg I hate being the guy to revive stuff but figure this would be the spot, so I tackled this mod today, hooked all up relay clicks, motor engages and locker locks but wont disengage, wtf? so i mess with the wires a little and now i got it to work engage and disengage, awesome... EXCEPT.... the factory switch, when pushed in its disengaged, and when out its engaged... so the factory switch on the dash funtion is backwards. Im stumped atm and cant figure what could cause that. I double checked pin # as per the diagram so I got the right wires??? weird. its gonna bug the crap out of me though. any ideas?

Just a quick question for the 2012s. Where you guys are saying a pink wire mine is pink with a blue stripe. Are they the same wire?

I know this is from a couple months ago, but my guess is because you used a 250 VAC relay. You need a relay with a DC volt coil I would think?

I just did this mod today and your 2012 might be different from my '08, mine had two pink wires, the one I cut was the smaller gauge pink next to the green/black wire. I don't have a pink/blue wire.

Did the locker mod. Pretty sure everything is working but when I engage the locker the red light on dash by 4wd and lo range lights does not turn on. I know it is getting power because it pops on when starting truck but not when it is engaged. The 4wd and lo range lights still work when switched on. Did I wore something up wrong?

Are you sure it's fully engaged? Just cuz the dial is turned doesn't mean it's engaged..With mine it doesn't come on until it's fully engaged

Not really, I am sure I have everything wired up correctly but I don't think it is locking. When I hit the locker button I hear the relay click but nothing else. I'm going to try and test the relay to see if it is working correctly because I see no other reasons of why it isn't working. I don't think it is engaging because the locker light doesn't even blink saying that it is trying to lock.

Try driving in an S pattern. The locker actuator slides a sleeve over the axle splines. If it's not lined up right, it won't lock. You can also test it by putting the rear axle on jackstands (safety third!), engage the locker with the key on and try to rotate one rear tire. If the other one turns the opposite direction, it is not locked. Double check your wiring.

With the locker mod the locker light doesn't blink anymore. It is just off for unlocked or on for locked.

No sir. If it is trying to engage it blinks. When the contacts are closed due to the actuator moving into the locked position, no blink. If it's blinkin', it's thinkin'.

Okay well I've got some stuff to try then. I have a feeling it is the relay tho and I am most likely going to put in a dpdt toggle switch and try that.

Mine used to blink when it was trying to engage, just like 4wd does, but after I did the Locker Anytime Mod, it no longer blinks when trying to engage. Is there another version of the locker mod? The one I did specifically mentioned that the light would no longer blink while thinking.

Mine blinks with this relay mod. Seems strange it's different for some and blinks for others. The important thing is that it works though, I don't care one way or another about the light.

I finally got the mod to work. The relay I bought from radio shack although similar to the one on the sight where I found the mod, was slightly different. I fixed the wiring and everything is working great! Mine does not blink either, just goes on when engaged. I installed a blinking light by the button that turns on when switch is pushed so that blinks when it is not engaged yet.

Just finished this mod. Worked beautifully! I just wanted to remind everyone of the new relay from radio shack... you do have to wire it this way:
Maybe we should have this added to the cheap/free mods page?

did this last night.... but im colorblind, so instead of a red/black wire i had a pink/black wire. took an hour to decide to bite the bullet and cut it. and wondering if the spades are on the lockre side or 4wd computer side. but works awesome!!! especially in sand
