Looks awesome! I actually haven't taken my taco in any deep snow yet, would be fun.

Sounds good, I should know by noon tomorrow at the latest.

Well my dad went up today and he said he didn't see any snow, which is a bummer but it should still be nice and muddy

Would it be possible to make it over the mountain starting from the east side then?

There's a way in off of 20, through potter valley, there's a way in from clearlake, and a way in from covelo?(don't quote me)

    Oops. I quoted you...

Yes, ^ this is correct. The way in from Covelo is essentially hwy 162, and it leads from Covelo through the MNF to I-5 by way of Mendocino Pass rd (also known as hwy 162, Alder springs rd and farther east, M3 and ivory Mill rd) which will pass through Elk Creek and end up in Willows.

OR by way of hwy 162 to M4 (AKA fr 2302, round valley road) which will pass by Black Butte Lake and end up by Corning or Orland.

Now, coming from the east, ala I-5, you can get to Pillsbury, hull mt by coming through elk creek and Taking County road 308/ivory mill rd to FR M3. You'll head SW on M3 (AKA rice creek rd) around the bottom of lake Pillsbury, where you'll hit Elk Mt Road (Aka M1) which will be the same track taken by everyone coming in from Potter Valley or Upper Lake. That will lead you North up to the top of lake Pillsbury, and the road up to Hull Mt.

It can be done, and its not too difficult, but your overall time savings will be minimal, if at all. It may be more fun, more dirt, but you're not saving a whole lotta time. It would be cool for a 2 (or more) day trip, camping along the way, but as a 1 day run, that's a whole lot of ass chattering dirt roads.

Might be best saved for spring time then.
