About to purchase my 2014. To help with negotiations, can anyone share what they have learned about actual dealer costs on Tacoma accessories (TRD exhaust, step bars, etc) as opposed to "list" or msrp? Thank you in advance.

I learned ebay is much cheaper. Some dealerships will negotiate on accessories, some won't. Same goes for labor for installation. I told the dealership I bought my truck from the prices I found online and they still wouldn't budge.

I don't know the answer to your question but thought I'd tell you a personal anecdote. I worked out what I thought was a really good deal on a 2014 Tacoma with a dealer and only as an afterthought decided that I wanted a roof rack on it. My wife called the dealer back and asked about it and the salesman said, "sure, we'll throw it on for our cost". I knew that MSRP on the accessory was $350 and figured that I'd save $50-80 on it and was quite happy with that. A couple of days later, the salesman called me back to tell me that the rack would be $353. I told him that he had agreed with my wife to install it for "our cost" and he gave me some crap about it costing more at the dealership than at the factory. Now, admittedly, the dealership will need one of their guys to take the time to do it but that's not my problem when it was offered at "our cost".

I don't know if that helps or not. Like I said, I was very happy with the deal we cut but since then (they had to get my truck from another dealer and I'm still waiting to pick it up", they've pulled about 3 stunts on me that I'm not particularly happy about.
