no worries, but now for a serious question.

are the optima red/yellow tops really THAT much better than their duralast/bie hard counter parts? i'm looking at setting up my dual battery in parallel until i can figure out a good management system, and looking at the stats for say a duralast premium, they (red tops) are more expensive, less CCA, shorter reserve, shorter warranty, etc. outside of the ability to mount them in any position, i think the "lesser" battery would be fine for me.

reading through some other forums and review sites, they seem to be in agreement that the red tops just aren't really worth it.

i'm gonna bake a shitload tonight/tomorrow, i just got a 25lb bag of flour and several tubs of PB.

 

We have a red top on my dads f150 had it for 7 years now. My buddy with a ford diesel would go threw a set of duralast batteries every 2 years. He switched to yellow tops and has had no issues and he is past the 2 year mark. He got tired of having to go get new batteries on the truck so he went to optima

I'd go with a marine battery if you want serious deep-cycle power. Although the marine batteries are more expensive than regular car batteries, I still can't justify spending absurd money on an Optima, Odyssey, gel, or other "high end" battery. At the end of the day, 12v is still 12v.
