Would probably finance through bank. Build credit. It's that or a 2014 5-lug or a Corolla.

My driveway is all ice. We didnt snow blow during the 1st of this (like it seems to be) a series of storms. So it's water, 3'' of ice then a coating of packed wet snow that keeps melting and freezing. I've been stuck in one spot for awhile, or i break threw it and get stuck. But the trucks out from the carport to be washed so it doesn't rot.

I'll have to look into this. Yes the roof rake doesn't do anything for the ice. I used a hammer to break it up.

Yes it's a non heated porch attached to the back of the house. I have like 3' of insulation in the attic. I was driving around and pretty much every house has ice on the edge of there roof and I'm the only one clearing the snow off the roof.
A lot of the houses up here don't have gutters. Mine has them on the back roof and over the front entrance.

I'll have to do some reading up on properly insulating the house.

Yikes. My parents have an inside gully that collects a lot of ice, my dad actually throws salt up there to help melt the ice. Not sure what that does long term for the shingles but it works.

They're not terrible, check Home Depot or Lowes' website. A local hardware store like ACE might have them also.

I forget. I bought them prob two years ago at lowes. Mine run across the front over the roof and then along the back. That way I only worry about one plug

I looked at the wire kit..they have clips that go on the end of the shingle to hold the wire. Really think it's necessary at this point for my house..

The other problem with the rake is when you pull the snow off the roof it falls in the gutter, so you're moving the problem around if that gutter freezes up you're gonna get dams.

We had a horrible dam the first year at my house, used an oxy torch to make a divot every 6-12 inches and then gently use a hammer and screwdriver to clear it. That was an all day job in the freezing cold..never again.

I want to say about $75 for 100 feet of wire. Not sure how much roof that does left to right.

What I want to know is, do they just plug into any old outlet or have to be wired into the breaker box somehow?
