These guys are running a business and making lots of money, don't think they care about people more than product. It sucks! :pccoffee:

    Macs are cool though!

interesting! boo...i have a macbook, too! i got my mine a few months before you did when i was still in college; before fall semester started up for my senior year. took me forever to save up and get a damn macbook...1300 i think with a printer that my damn dog chewed up the cords so i haven't used it since!

i also have the first generation ipod or is it the second generation. all i know is that thing looks ancient compared to all the ones they've came out with. my kid brother told me to get rid of it but i can't. it has too many good songs and memories in which i haven't gotten a new one yet. but he told me that if i trade it in i can get 10% off a purchase of a new ipod. maybe they'll do the same for the macbooks????

    how are you MIKEY? :)

Everytime I buy something from Apple, a few months later they come out with something better and faster than what I bought. Its just something you have to get used too. Sorry it happened to you, but that same thing has happened to me and a lot of other people too!

So speaking of macbooks and how expensive they are...

I come back from my trip (my laptop has not been used for 5 weeks). I noticed that when my macbook isn't plugged in, it shuts off automatically. I take it to the Apple store the other day and asked them what the problem is...I need a new battery that costs 129. My friend who was with me said that her PC costed her 600 and she has never had to replace a battery and it still works fine 6 years later, it lasted her throughout college. So I have the money but decided I really don't need a laptop, which now turned into a desktop. Ahaha.

Dump the MAC and get a PC type notebook and put Linux in it. You will have the best of both worlds since exopensive MAC software is based on linux but everything to do with Linux is FREE with no viruses, scumware and other sh*t.

I have an Ibook purchased almost 6 years ago, g4 "panther" 10.3.9... Great computer.. still use it today, have changed the battery once, the charger 3 times now. I just bought a 15" Mac Book Pro, got a great deal 1299 for a floor demo model with NEW battery (Best Buy).

They make great equipment, but you had to know the Mac Book was on the way out with all that cool casing they are doing now. They are expensive, but I definitely got my value out of that first one, paid 1299 for it ironically back then. Snow Leopard OS comes out next month, if you buy now.. pay the thirty bucks and get the upgrade while you can.. IT'S WORTH IT in the long run. My old "Panther" is not compatible with the latest IPODS.

Now I am looking for a used Mac Mini for my kids to play with it.

I sort of lucked out with this price drop.

I bought a 13" macbook about two weeks before the new line and price drop. I got the 100 dollar rebate for the printer as well.

Next they came out with the $229 rebate towards and iPod. I called them up and said that I just bought a macbook and now they have this offer. They sent me an iPod Touch at no charge and I didn't have to wait for a rebate.

Then they came out with the new line of macbooks, upgrading the 13" to pro status and dropping the price across the line.

Again I call them up and ask, WTF? After an hour on the phone going through the possiblities:

refund me the difference in price, somewhere in the neighborhood of $500
or return the macbook with a 10% restocking fee

we come to the conclusion that I am sending back the 13" macbook I just bought and I am not paying a restocking fee.

After I received my full refund I bought the new 15" macbook pro for the price I just paid for the 13" macbook and I ordered a 120GB iPod Classic with the $229 rebate.

In the end I have a 15" macbook pro, 8gb touch (no cost), 120 gb classic ($20 after $229 rebate), and printer ($0 after $100 rebate) for the cost of a 13" macbook 2 weeks prior.

Best thing about the new macbooks is the SD card reader built-in and the new battery.

If you buy a mac after June 8th then you can get a copy of Snow Leopard for only $9.99. Price covers the cost of shipping. :)

fuck apple, the only good thing they make is the ipod/iphone.

Dell > Apple in every way possible.

The 100 apple computers here at work cause 1000x more headaches then my 1,000 PCs.

Do you work for Dell or something? Dells are cheap.. Sold Cheap, and made cheap.. not bad, just cheap. I would much rather spend my hard earned money on a Mac OS Versus anything Windows.
