Pretty intense afternoon in the BS threads

Kind of surprised to read Cliff be so passionate about tread lightly. I hope all of our community is this way, but the sad truth is that a lot of people that go out to wheel and shoot mess it up for the smaller % that try to do good and enjoy the trails.
I stopped a few times yesterday mid trail to pick up garbage that I could see and dropped it in my recycle bin last night. Kind of a different thing for me, hugging a tree when all I used to do was smoke them

Surprised!!!! Come on man hahaha I have been a contributing member to TL since 2007, before I even had a truck. I have never missed a 4 Peaks Pick up and have attended 4x4 oriented clean ups everywhere imaginable. Back in the AZTW hay-day Myself and a few other members orgainized several smaller scale events of mostly TW members for Butcher Jones and Reddington Pass. One year we pulled out almost 300lbs of pallet nails from party cover at butcher and filled every truck bed and a 8x12 trailer with trash bags.

I don't want to preach but honestly it is a known fact that 4x4 and OHV travel DOES tend to put more wear and tear on the land compared to other outdoor activities and because of the available space for coolers and people we create more trash that many simply leave behind. That's why I feel it is so important for us as responsible offroaders to be visible in our efforts to keep our areas clean so that others can see the attempt to make an impact and hopefully follow suit.

 

We go on runs every spring and fall to clean up public trails. Usually by the end of the summer the Jeep Assholes have dumped a pallet-worth of cheap domestic empties, a few tires/parts, and a vehicle sometimes into the woods just off the trail. We clean up and make the local town residents happy that someone is actually enjoying the trails, instead of having loud parties at night.

We had 2 local roads closed this past summer because some girls got raped on the trails at a party at night. It's a shame that they were raped, and it's a shame that those individuals abused the public trails and had them taken away from the rest of us

 

Havent done any trails up in the P metro and surrounding areas but have done trail clean ups around here such as reddington. I do pick up stuff when we are on the trails though and appreciate all those who do the same.

 

First things I pack for a trip are a box of strawberry uncrustables and a handful of contractor bags.

I went and shot out at Reddington on Saturday Mike and I was really impressed with how clean the area was. The big old shooting sites early on are closed and exceptionally clean. There were a few morons parked on the road and shooting in some pretty sketchy spots just off the road but my spot which is back and north of the road about 2 miles after the 3 feathers staging area was also in really good shape, I was only able to pick up a few water bottles.

 

The shooting in bad places has been really bad lately man. But we do keep it clean since it is our weekend spot.

It's on the list once I get a rear bumper and swingout.
