My GSD I had was bigger than tango and he knew better.
If you're hunting a leash is not an effective tool while holding a shotgun. I also put my pointer and lab in different places in the field and they know to go to work after the shooting is done.

Then the one I had in high school wins. Was a retired bite work dog lol. Big ole softy though after you domesticate them. :D if I was not into hunting I would have another or a belgian malinois.

I wanted to get one of the military malinois from my dad but none were retiring when he was still active duty.

One blast from the whistle or nick from the collar and Thor will come. But can you put them in a sit and then walk away 1/4 of a mile and they stay? Thor will sit until I call him.......75% of the time no matter what the distance I can almost get him to take hand signals in the water and change directions. It all comes down to you being consistent with the training and repeating it over and over until the get it.

Yeah mine will stay. But if I just nick them without a command from a distance they will just come to me. My pointer is better my lab sometimes will say fuck it and come running. He has attachment issues with me haha. I also take them and do trainings with them while my buddy is running his training classes. It's good for all parties involved to work with distractions and te point being no matter what is going on you listen to your handler.

The only ones I recall are of course the stock rubicons and there is also a place that rents out super built buggies. They only had two the last time I saw and I'm sure they're pricy and pretty booked up.

Was he going to rent a Tacoma or runner from like hertz or enterprise and go wheel it on the insurance you can buy? Because if he does id like to be a part of that. I'll be a silent passenger. :D (one that encourages him to romp it).

For the price of most bike or off-roading truck/jeep rentals (not to mention $$$ if anything happens to rentals) I'd almost just buy a junker off craigslist fix it up enough to make the trip and then thrash the crap out of it and sell it for parts at the end.
