I have the gutter wires...they are amazing. We have a wood stove and T shaped roof so we have two troughs that all the snowmelt heads down...if it weren't for creatively placed flashing and the gutter defrosters we would have 2ft of ice dam...


This guy almost got it right but you have to run the wire up the gutter, across the bottom of the gutter the full length and then snake it up and down all the way back so it terminates or runs back down the up spout...

Just make sure it's NOT rock salt (Sodium Chloride) that will leave behind white 'sweat stains' ...Calcium Chloride/Potassium Chloride are what will leave no residue...

 

Same one I'm thinking of, I just saw the box instore while getting something else.

Billy, do you run yours in the gutter and spout as well?

Anyone use this in conjunction with the gutter mesh? That's what I'm planning ultimately if it works

Just asked him (he called right after you posted that). He's using calcium chloride although by accident, not because he knew about the sweat stains.

I'll get you some pre-treatment we load on the roads before a storm. Its just highly corrosive. Or get ya some salt. I went through 6 tons Saturday from South Boston to Stoughton/Canton. Why 1st gens rot the hell out.

Yup I leave the plug in the garage and run it up the corner down spout then across the gutter. Then it loops down the other spout about a foot. Then it goes up over the roof to the rear corner spout loops about a foot down comes back and terminates in the gutter. I don't do the shingle zig zag just in the gutter.

 

Ruined why, just because it's an auto?

 

Is that the bad flux capacitor?
