I remember seeing a couple threads where people remove the carpet beneath their center console to store valuables and such. If someone could point me in the direction of one of these threads it would be great. Seems like a nice place to hide things that go pow.

Should take a few minutes with a knife, marker, glue, piece of cardboard and a little common sense. Just lift the carpet out, trace outline on cardboard, cut two extra piece for the depth you want, bingo blamo.

If it is for a firearm you are leaving in a vehicle, buy a small single handgun safe and use cable to secure it to the seat rail.

Those cables can be cut incredibly easy.

What I'm looking for any thief would overlook.

I'm looking for a specific thread with pictures because I want to see if my current setup will fit before I start cutting away.

pull out the cup holders in front of the console, then you see the body metal, you can stash stuff from there under console or up towards the dash, if you REALLY want to hide stuff put them in a plastic bag, tie the bag shut and tie fishing line to the bag and stick it way down in there, leave line accessible.

what size items? if you are hiding 'stuff' a good idea is to hollow out a little of the headrest and insert from the bottom, or put hinges at the bottom of the center piece in dash where the radio and NAV is, then put actuators on each side at the top of the piece to keep it in place, then buy an oem switch and put it in on of the empty switch spots on the left of the dash where the inverter switch is and have that trigger the actuators to unlock or instead of actuators use spring loaded locks and run the unlock lever through tiny hole in the a/c vents, and use a magnet on like a chop stick one each side placed through the vents to open the locks.

hope that helps, need more stash spot ideas lemme know :)

    cheers,
    disco

Remove the forward-most cupholder or silver center console piece and you have a large area to stash stuff in. I've used it before (driving through downtown ATL)

Don't know about Cali, but where I live it is illegal to leave you gun in your vehicle. Why do you need to leave it? I carry concealed just about everywhere I go. The one thing to remember is that when/if you need that gun. The more steps to getting it in your hand ready to fire, the least likely it is going to do you any good.

Now we know you work for the Mexican Cartels.

It's legal. I want a stash spot that a common thief would overlook but where I can hide the gun if I need to take it off of myself.

Yeah, it's a bit like this. I'm actually trying to go below the plastic in the console. That way there is hopefully enough room for the holster as well. But I really do like that foam cut out.

Thanks for the thread, and thanks for the replies guys
