    Ok,
    So there are a bunch of posts on lifts, wheels and tires. I done several searches, a bunch of reading, and have decided I am an idiot. I can't make heads of tails of the whole "what will fit and what wont"

    This is what I am trying to figure out.
    I have an 02 Access Cab 4WD, TRD OFF ROAD.
    I like the way to tires fill up the wheel wells with its current factory set up. I am hoping to achieve the same look with a lift and new wheels and tires.

    I am planning a EMU 2.5" suspension (complete)
    I would like to go to 18" wheels (The ones I like only come in 18")
    For tires, I want mostly a street tread as this truck will not see any off roading.
    So, Can I go to an 18" wheel, stay with a tire that still has plenty of side wall (no low-profile for me on a truck) all without having to do modifications for the truck?
    If so, what size tire can I use?

    a 285/60/18 will be a 32" tall tire, and with a little trimming, a 285/65/18 (33") should fit.

    Stock is a 31" tall tire, and 10.4" wide. A 285/60/18 will be about an inch wider, and an inch taller. Check the pics in my gallery to see what they look like on my truck. :)

    have to pick on who i believe to be the master!! 285/65/18 = 32.58"
    Im running that size. Check my photos as well. (not many) i didnt trim any and im rubbing slightly. Not bad enough for me to cut away at my truck. But if ur going with street tires get 285/60/18 or even 285/55/18. Neither or near low pro and should fit just fine pending backspacing of your rim u chose.

    I know the dimensions, but they are clasified as a 33" tire. Just as a 31/10.50 tire is actually 30.6" tall. ;)

    So...that would be about a 315/60/18? Depending on the wheels BS, you may be awfully close to the UCA with that size.

    The tires specs say its only 32.6 overall is it safe to go by that?
    and the sec. width is 12.9 mine now is only 11.2

    height wise, yes, but the width may be an issue depending on wheels BS.

    You can measure from the back of the wheel mounting surface, to the lip of the wheel. That should get you close.
