same here -- but I don't know if I can wait till past 2015 either... bad bad situation. don't ban me but this possibility that the Tacoma will go till '16 or 10+yrs of dated technology is really making me wait.. to at least 'look' at the Colorado. no other midsize truck can currently claim 30mpg+ except the Hilux is other countries. Wake up Toyota ! Get moving please.

Nothing wrong with that at all. The Colorado fills a niche and I think it fills it well. It looks nice but it's not for me.

I too am waiting for the new Tacoma. Had a 2005 quad cab Tacoma and it was the best PU I have ever owned. Sold it in 09 and have an 09 Silverado. I went to a Toyota dealer and looked at the 2013's. It was Dejavu . Other than electronics almost nothing has changed. same powertrain! By next year it will 10 years with the same truck! Shame on Toyota!!!!

Well if youre going to wait for a 2015, should you wait for a 2017? Ill probably end up doing that. Make sure all the bugs, recalls, etc get ironed out on the first year guinea pigs on a new design..

I just bought a 2014 Tacoma principally because the newer 4-Runners are butt-ugly. I LOVED my 2006 4-Runner, it was my favorite vehicle ever and nothing else has been close. That said, I just can't bring myself to buy a new one and got the truck instead. Now if Toyota makes some substantial and beneficial changes in the Tacoma in the next several years, I may wait just long enough to have substantial equity in the 2014 and to see one year's worth of road testing and then trade this one in on the new re-designed model, whenever we actually see one.

I replaced the SYNCHROS twice in my 2000. I replaced the shifter once. ( I bought it new.) It always shifted like there were rocks in the gearbox. My 2009 doesn't shift ultra nicely, either. But it IS a step up. (the clutch went south at 23k) I've found my Tacomas gear boxes to be the very least impressive part of the trucks. Any improvement in that department is long overdue!

Toyota figures dont fix whats not broken. reliable drivetrain period. They sell Tacomas no problem even being "dated design". Bet you they update the Tacomas once other midsize ( Colorado/Canyon ) begin stealing sales.

I'm gonna try to locate/order in the next few days, an Access-Cab Tacoma.

What are the Pro's & Con's of going with: 'TRD Off-Road' VS 'TRD Sport' Package?

Any advice/tips, as far as option's, package's or basically anything, I should arm myself with, before I take on the Sales-Staff, at whatever Dealership I end up at-->:notsure:

For me only two reasons TRD over Sport: First (IMO ) a little better ride in the 16" tires over the 17's and save a buck or two at replacement. Second was the hood. I think the Sport painted over chrome is so much better looking but you just can't get everything you want.

Not to disagree with MJR, but I thought the TRD Sport had the better ride over the TRD Off-Road due to the differences in tire sizes and shocks. It seems that Toyota marketed these two versions that way too. In addition, recall that the TRD Off-Road has the "locking differential" while the TRD Sport has "limited slip differential".

Ride quality is very subjective. I went with the SR5 because I thought it rode much much better than the TRD or Sport that I tested.
