Back about 20 years ago, this was an annual tradition for some friends of mine from Cortez. Best one I remember was a bad ass old military dodge. Sometimes they even made money out of the deal.

Though looking at their website, they don't list those ones anywhere. So not sure if they're ride along or what.

I don't know of a single place that would rent you a yota to wheel in moab. The only rental I think you'll find is a stock 4runner/taco from a rental car company in Grand Junction.

If he's anti-jeep and wants to wheel in moab, I think his best bet is renting a side-by-side. I've seen those things go more places out there then a stock rental yota will.

They don't even sell hardly any replacement parts for Toyotas in Moab.

Hey thought this was as good a place to introduce myself as any. Name is Brandon I'm stationed here in Denver for the Air Force (don't hold that against me...though I've been in for 12 years as of next week) and looking to buy a first gen in the next couple months. I have a 97 FZJ80 right now that I love, but miss my Toyota pickups. I've had 4 total, a 79 20R, 85 22R, 87 22R, 95 22RE. and one 87 Runner with a 3slow that I bought with a blown motor, and never got around to rebuilding.

I've been lurking for a while now, trying to find the bits of info to look for, other than making sure the rear locker actually works, anything I should be looking for?
    -Brandon

Rode my bike out at dakota ridge again today. It was really dry. Finally!

Hit a pretty big drop my room mate convinced me into doing.

Anyone have experience with white ranch? I hear its supposed to be pretty fun

Also got to mount our bikes to my new bed rack. Should have taken some pictures, but it works perfectly. Got a lot of head turns from people :D

i used to shuttle white ranch quite a bit, its a fun downhill run but way to busy with uphill traffic and horses. To many close calls so we decided to stop riding that trail.

if your looking for some crazy ass DH runs head up to idaho springs and up oh my god road, at the top there is a house on the right with a big dirt pull off, the trail dips into the woods right near that house. its super off camber and wants to fling you down the hill sideways!

My buddies love riding up there. I've ridden a mountain bike a total of 4 times now, so I might try some more intermediate stuff until I feel more comfortable on my bike . But i've seen some of their GoPro footage. Looks like an awesome place!

mainly we rode WR during the weekends before the resorts would open up but to many times we would have people yell at us, come around a corner to riders on horseback coming up the trail. The last thing i wanted to do was spook someone on a horse and have them get flung off so i stopped riding that trail system.

great shuttle option though if you have 2 cars or one person willing to drive up and down a couple times!

I'm not real good at this stuff but I know the timing belt or something needs to be checked? Hopefully someone will chime in.

And of course check for rust and I'd make sure the 4wd works too.
