Well I already have 2 up front, and have 3 left over with nothing to do with them. If they don't go on the bumper then theyd just go on the roof rack side facing maybe but I have two off colored that I was going to put in the rear somewhat angled out towards the side but who knows, ill see how it all happens

 I was surprised how bright they are. I also have 4 extras, probly going to put them underneath for some brighter rock lights.

That was my thought as well after the sas but I have 20 little 1"x1" square pods under the truck as is and two sets of 3 led aluminum rock lights still to go under.. but ill play with just two 6lz and see how I like them then maybe order one more to go along with the 3rd spare for side facing roof rack lights

Hey guys... need your help if you don't mind. Ordered parts to replace my front and rear suspension from Wheelers Offroad (thanks for the suggestion to all of you....) and I just want to make sure I am not missing anything crucial. When I read about certain setups, people have things listed like longer u-bolts and things of that nature, and honestly I am not versed enough mechanically to know if I need those.

Attached is a list of what I ordered so far... I know that I need to order a differential drop kit, so that is one thing I need to add to my list.

    Thanks for any insight!

You would probably have better luck asking this in the suspension thread

Longer U bolts are a good idea

Does anyone have any feedback or knowledge of motor trenz in Charlotte? They have done some nice work on the tacomas they have pictures of. Thinking of using them to install my lift once I get it, or if it is great reviews I may order through them as well.

I think I am going the OME route, seems to be the best bang my limited buck, and for the amount of wheeling, not rock climbing, I imagine myself doing I think it will be perfect.

    Thanks for the feedback

So I haven't actually used them... but I am in the same boat as you, I need someone to install my icon lift. I just called Motortrenz Customs and they quoted me 8 hours to install my icon front coilovers, UCA's, rear leaf springs, and rear shocks at $100 an hour. For comparison, MarsFab in harrisburg quoted me 4-8 hours at $60 an hour.. One thing to keep in mind also is that with MarsFab, Chris didn't care whether he ordered the parts or whether you did. He only insisted on ordering them if it was a better deal for you. With motortrenz, they sounded stand-ofish about you ordering your own parts, but this is partly because they usually warranty the parts. If you order them, he mentioned they only warranty the labor. Which is understandable.

Hope that helps a little bit.

For those prices y'all could buy your own tools and get it done, if y'all were closer I'd help out cause that kind of money is rediculous

That is real expensive, installing a lift your self is really not that hard to do!

    Listen to this guy^

Also I might could help, or try to see about getting a mod day set up and we could do it there! Talk to Jhodge83, maybe he can get Will tacomaman06 to have a mod day soon!

Yikes, 1 bill an hour @ 8 hours, that's pretty steep. I have a friend that has offered to help me but he is the mechanical one, I am the nerdy one. I hate to have him help since I know he would be doing most of the work, but I can pay him handsomely and still come out ahead compared to Motor Trenz. I will have to look into MarsFab, I haven't heard of them and Motor Trenz is only about 10-15 minutes from my house that's why I picked them.

There are 2 main reasons I was thinking of having a shop do it, brake lines and accountability. I would rather be pissed off at a company rather than a friend if something went bad.

A mod day would be fantastic. I just a few more of my items on ebay sell so I can order the lift

Yeah I agree. I mean honestly I would rather install myself, for the opposite reason as Jwilly... I would rather know the quality of the work being done.

Is a mod day just a bunch of guys getting together to mod someone's truck? If we could set that up I would definitely provide beer, food, and pay for gas or whatever. I would definitely appreciate any help, and saving the $600 for install would allow me to buy tires now rather than wait.

The only thing I don't have is the tools or the garage. I have a gravel driveway so it may be pretty uncomfortable doing it there.

Yeah a mod day is a day when a bunch of guys get together at some ones house and help each other work on each other's trucks! I went to one at Wills house a few years ago, we installed my lift and my locker in the same day, it was a long day 7am to about 11 at night, but a good day!
