Mike I have atleast 4" of snow now. I just did the driveway and the strangest thing happened. I have never had this happen but the auger was turning and throwing snow but it was more of a plow than a thrower. It just pushed the snow till I got to end and it couldnt slide any more

Yuck! That sucks, I've been limping my snowblower throw the second half of this winter. The belt is going and the drive wheel is slipping when it tries to push heavier stuff. I have the parts but I'm trying to get through the winter so I can fix it all in the spring.

What??? You should head west. My parents in NY got over 2' in this last storm. I got a work out just walking around the yard with the dogs.

We've got a solid 6 or so inches here. It has also been in the low 20s for the better part of the day so the snow is particularly light in comparison to the latest snow a efw days ago when it was hovering freezing a few days ago.

You sure it's not shear pins, and the augers are just turning due to snow packed on the auger axle?

Shear pins what are those? You mean the 1/4 20 bolts that hold the auger to the shaft

Ya those. Mine will still throw snow when the shear pins are sheared, but it also plows the snow like you were saying earlier

I hope we have more winters with this much snow when Joseph is old enough to enjoy it. Right now, there is no up side, no one enjoys it except me when I'm messing around without traction control. At least when Joseph is older, he can enjoy the snow while I'm out breaking my back shoveling it!

Mine has 2x augurs...one on each side of the drive and i've broken one before but not the other and limp/pushing is exactly what it felt like...

Don't leave a 5 inch scrap piece of 2x4 out for your kid to throw in the snowy driveway...it's a good test for a shear pin...
