We've probably heard what you heard. Somebody had linked in the nmoffroad.com discussion a few months back. Were I remember it being was one of the guys was talking to BLM, Forest Service and a couple other agencies to find out the status of the land and they had no clue what was going on but started looking into it. Somewhere in there, the owners were contacted. Not sure where it is now.

Yeah, that's where I picked up the thread and that was several months ago. One of the land-use guys started asking the land agencies/orgs and they started looking into it. Somewhere, it was felt somebody was exercising authority they didn't have. From what I read the owners are a corporation in California.

The trash is horrendous. Reminds me of some of the "wildcat" dumps on some of the trails outside of Tucson. I usually pick up some stuff and throw it in the bed whenever I stop. Last time I was out there, I pulled up an old computer monitor shot all to hell and a partial coil spring.

I haven't been out there in awhile. I always expect to see fresh "No Trespassing" signs the next time I head out there. Going to be a let down when that happens but there are other places to go.

As the population grows and land gets sucked up for development, there will be less and less places to wheel. America isn't the wild frontier it used to be. One of the big things is to get involved and make sure off-roading has a place in the land set aside for recreation.

I've been considering more and more to get back to mountain biking and hiking. Much cheaper, better for the heart and more trails are available. Although, my truck would be quite overbuilt for getting to the trailheads. :D

This guys is selling some 1st Gen rims. They should fit.

Nick (BigFishAllDay) welded some backing nuts onto my bumper for the skidplate mount. We also fixed the bumper so the frame rail cap bolts can be threaded in. The bumper mounting feels so much more solid now. Has me considering a winch.

Looks like I'll be out in the garage this Saturday working on the passenger side LBJ and CV axle. While Nick and I were messing around with the front bumper, noticed the inner boot is getting ready to let go. Hopefully it holds long enough so I don't have to clean up the grease too. Anyone is welcome to stop in.
