Got under my regular bed, 4 cylinder, 4 speed transmission vehicle today and found that it has a single rear drive shaft, therefore; the new tsb could not apply. Answered my own questions. My bad. It still does not explain the infrequent vibration/shudder that I get periodically. Guess that I will take it in to the dealer anyway to discuss it further. Does anyone else out there that has a regular cab, 4 cylinder engine, 4 speed automatic transmission, 4x4 ever have a driveline vibration/shudder that emanates from the front end of the vehicle? Thanks......

Mine does that occasionally. After finding out from this forum that it is normal for these trucks, I just ignore it.

Took mine in this morning and they did the 10k service as well as worked on the TSB. They identified the vibration and went ahead and ordered the Steering Damper and the engine mount. Taking it back in Thursday. I told the guy "You and I both know the Damper isn't fixing a thing" and asked if they could just measure the angles tonight and order the leafs. He said the tech already went home and he has to be very precise about following the TSB, so I probably won't get mine completely done until next week at the earliest. I'm the first one that's brought it in to that dealer though so I guess I get to be the guinea pig for them!

Dealer had mine for a week, early Tuesday morning till Monday night. Hope the process goes quicker for your Tacoma. My dealer had to order the tool to measure the angles which they received the next day. The good news is fix worked, the vibration is gone.

OK, once again I apologize in advance if this question has been covered (I know it has) but I just want to clarify. I get a vibration around 35-55MPH that makes the steering wheel "shimmy". I know that this does not fit the exact symptom(s) for the driveline issue, but am wondering if my 2013 Tacoma DC 4WD is a candidate? My local tire shop gave me the old "Oh that is just what you get when you go with bigger tires" routine rather than seriously looking into the problem. I am not running huge 35" tires, they are 265/70 R16 BF Goodrich tires and are about 32.5" tall, still large, but had the problem BEFORE the new tires. Anyway, I was just wondering if it looks like I may be a candidate for this TSB or if I am looking in the wrong direction.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all,
    Ken

From a stop when you roll into a heavy throttle do you feel a vibration at 15-25mph?

Now in a straight line, put her in 4x4 high make sure shes engages, and do the same roll on into heavy throttle from a stop. Is the vibration reduced or eliminated? if so... yes this tsb applies.

Thanks nd4spd, I will give that a try tomorrow and see if I have the dreaded driveline disease. Thanks for you patience with my questions and help.

Yea the Advisor said it could take a few weeks to order the leafs since it's a 2013 but I said it applies to quite a few years so it shouldn't take as long and he said if that's the case it shouldn't be long so at this point I honestly have no idea, but on the bright side, I'm only out for a day at a time or so (Today, then Thursday for Steering Wheel/Motor Mount, then whenever they get the leafs), they're not keeping it for a week straight.

I have a base regular cab 4cyl, 4-sp auto 2wd. I have a shudder on DECELERATION in the 35-20MPH range. I think it is driveline related but it appears there is no love for us(probably as you said because of the small number of these trucks). I guess I just have to suck it up. Considering the drum brake TSB didn't really do anything(still have the groan at low speeds) I wouldn't be too optimistic about other "fixes" anyway.

I'm tempted to take my truck in for this updated tsb. But have zero confidence in dealers. They've always caused atleast one problem while fixing another which requires multiple trips back and forth.

I'm just goona live with my truck vibrating. Trick us not to accelerate hard. Drive like a grandpa and it's smooth lol

I have an 07 dbl cab, V6, 2wd. I have a drive shaft disconnect so having the dealer take any responsibility would not go well. I had a vibration between 30-35. My rear trans seal was leaking and figured as long as they are underneath I might as well change the trans mount to the new/upgraded as stated in the TSB. I also had them inspect/grease u-joints. So far, so good. About 85% or more of the vibration is gone. I am happy for now. We'll see about 1000 miles or so down the road.

Well I took my truck in yesterday for this, as I figured they have to order the tool. Being that I am now out of warranty I expect them to do everything they can to keep from fixing my truck, so I am not really EXPECTING a call from them anytime real soon. This afternoon the tire shop called and told me the tires I ordered (and PAID for) had come in and I could come by and have them put on at anytime. Well aint this just some perfect timing, I damn sure dont want to put a bigger tire (265/75/16) on and then the dealer use THAT as a reason to deny the warranty work. So I guess I am just in a holdiing pattern until I can get Chuck Hutton Toyota holding up their end like they should.

    *edit*
Being out of warranty coverage is no big deal right now cause I have been complaining about these vibe since like 15k miles and had the first TSB done between 20 and 25k miles.

I will be taking mine in this Saturday at Toyota of Greenville. Let's see if I get the runaround or a fix.

Nah not the seatbelt recall, I skirted that one. This is for the electronics for ABS, etc.

My T-SB is done. Toyota replaced the Leaf Springs with 4 leaf pack leaf springs, they replaced the Transmission Mount, and Steering Wheel Damper.

So far I don't feel any vibration, the rife is a little stiffer in the rear and the rear is about 3/4" taller...

I'll see how it rides when I install my ICON's on the front and level the truck.

The "firm ride" springs are the 4 leaf packs, right?

Even if you have the 4 leaf pack, the TSB will replace them with a different one? My 4 leaf pack has different part numbers than the ones listed on the TSB.
    RH 48210-04570
    LH 48220-04210

I had the harsh ride TSB done under warranty 4 years ago which replaced the 3 leaf with a 4 leaf pack. I also had the trans mount TSB done under warranty for vibs, which is the same p/n listed in the TSB just posted.

I still have very minor vibs but I don't have a warranty anymore. I'm trying to follow this TSB to use the correct pinion shims.

yes... the Firm ride packs are a 4 leaf pack, they might have a redesigned spring rate or stiffer front part of the spring.... who knows... but what they do have is caster shims attached to the bottom.

So, I definitely feel the vibration when I accelerate. What would be the best way to approach the shop? I want them to go ahead and replace my leaf pack. Should I show them the TSB? Request a leaf pack? Or just not say anything?

Also, for those with the TSB's new leaf packs, have you noticed the "clunk" our trucks are plagued with when coming to a stop?
