Just to be fair (I'm a SEC fan and am glad the SEC won), OU was the only team besides Miami to keep UF under 30 points last season. I know, UF wasn't putting up the same monster numbers that OU did, but including the SEC title game, UF was averaging 45 points, scoring 45 or more points 6 times. That's not too shabby. Like I said, I love the SEC, I'm just trying to be a little unbiased. OU definitely lost to a better team, but they did give them more of a fight than the rest of the nation did (besides Mississippi. Ha ha).

Big game Bob won't be there much longer if he keeps not showing up for the big games. Sure, he can get there 4 times in 9 years, but no one remembers who comes in 2nd...except for the AD of the school that finished 2nd. 2nd isn't enough to keep your job for long.

I don't understand this argument. Did you watch the game? I fully acknowledge that OU lost to a better team, but that game was not a blow out by any means. There were 3 close plays that OU did not get that any one of them would have been a major shift in momentum in that game. There were two plays in the end zone that were tipped by more than one player from both teams.

That game was the closest NC game since UT UScal. In my opinion, those OU and UF were the best teams in the nation at that time, and it was a fantastic game (except that my team lost). Neither team showed the explosive offense that they had shown all season long, but Florida was able to show the same formidable defense that was head and shoulders faster than anyone that OU played all season. That was the difference.

That has been the difference in every single NC (and other BCS) game that we have lost. The defense for OU has not been any where near as good as it was in 2000. When Mike Stoops left there was a serious fall off in defensive speed and power from OU. It has kinda sucked since and we have had to throw up huge offensive numbers to compensate.

This is the most ridiculous assertion yet made on this thread. Yes Big Game Bob has lost 5 straight BCS bowl games, and of those three were MNC games, but OU has won 3 striaght Big-12 titles and 6 overall and one MNC. IF OU canned Stoops for not winning the big one, no coach in there right mind would take a job at OU. You don't become a better program for firing the #2 winning coach this decade....pure ludicrous. 99% of Sooner fans loves Stoops....his D coordinator on the other hand, Brent Veneables is up for debate; which I believe this is a make or break year for him. With all the returning talent we have coming back on D, there better be a better showing than the #57th overall rated D in the nation.

I consider holding a team averaging 54pts per game to just two touchdowns 'handing it to them'. Yes, I do.

FWIW, the Big 12 has a system to put a team in the championship game, and that's fine... but watching both the NC and the Fiesta Bowl, I think Texas was a better team at the time.

I've said it before and I haven't changed my mind... I would put the SEC champion up against anybody in the nation, every year.

Anyway, I'm already tired of this pre-season stuff. I CAN'T WAIT ANOTHER 31 DAYS!

I saw that earlier today. I think those rankings are pretty ridiculous. I'm a HUUUGE UGA fan, but I woudln't put UGA in the top 5, maybe not the top 10. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am. OSU @ 6? They'll slide by their conference like always and suck it up against anyone else. Slide them down to about 20-25. Either way...we're within a MONTH.:taco::yay::woot:
