The up and down idle on the snowblowers must mean they are Tecumseh snow kings... I have a 9 on mine, they all seem to do it. If you need a carb, get a replacement off of Amazon. Seach by engine code. I was tired of having to run mine half choke with backfiring and got a no-name carb for $27 with shipping. The rebuild kit alone was around $12 and you still may not have a decent running machine. It was nice to bolt 'er up and not have to screw around with the mixture. The best machine that I ever used was my parent's old Sno-Bird. That thing would toss everything a really good distance. Damn heavy but it would clear a path - snow, ice, rocks, it didn't care...

Yup Tecumseh here on a snapper hd chassis. New carb made it run like a raped ape. Little sputter on start up, but once you close the choke it rips.

Really wish I could get away with a 4" lift on mine without doing a DB lift.

I came across this most, and it's actually a pretty good idea if you want to wheel with a DB lift.

    4" of width, not lift.

    DB lifts suck

I want to say my carb is from Oregon power equipment our something like that. And now that I think about it I got it from Amazon. Kept the old with a rebuild kit for a spare

True, but I guess a 4" DB lift with 5100's is better than a 6" DB lift.

You could just use wheel spacers to make your stance wider.

Well I want a wide stance.

I just don't like DB lifts. Pointless

I wasn't suggesting that you get one, if that's what you were thinking.

What's your truck worth right now?

It just seems like it would make more sense to keep your current rig as-is, and pick something like this up to turn into a trail rig.

That's my plan, just see if I can scoop one up in a last of season run. The Ariens Deluxe 24 looks kickass for 900 bucks, though I haven't done much looking.

Mine has served me well for 10 yrs and fires right up, save the carb issue I had it has never even needed a shear pin.

We got my father in law an ariens platinum 24. It's pretty awesome. I forget the difference between the deluxe and platinum, but either way it's a great machine

Why not just wheel it the way it is? Can you seriously justify LT or SAS? While it would be sweet, do you really need it?

Just buy a set of sweet wheels from Hawaii

The make plenty of wheels that will give u a wider stance. Front and Rear.
Just order a nice set of OMF beadlocks made from the Stock Toyota rims, so when you sell them in 6 months because you bought a ford (like people who shall not be named) I can buy them:D
