Hey guys , I need your option . I am looking at getting the side window deflectors for my 2nd gen dc . I was thinking of the weather tech in channel . My questions are , Are the weather tech good ? Also do they install between the glass and the rubber ? And what kind of problems have any of you have with these and the in channel one's or should I get the tape on one's ? Any and all feed back welcome . :D

No mud flaps, plasti dipped emblems, and rear bumper, Weather tech digital fit, Bed mat from tractor supply. Pioneer 4400BH head unit. B.A.M.F bed rail tie downs. AVS vent visors.
I have the AVS inchennels and love them! no problems at all! yes they install between the glass and rubber seal. when you install them don’t roll the windows down for at least a day or 2. also they still use double sided tape to help keep them in place.

edit: i have some pic in my build thread. link is in my sig.

I bought a set. The tape kind that stick on the rubber seal between the rubber and the glass. Haven't put them on yet because its been cold and the adhesive tape doesnt stick well in cold.

I also got the ASV in-channel and have been very happy with them. I prefer the low profile look vs the over window ones.

I just put on ASV in-channels Monday. It's cold in NC so I'll wait until Friday to roll down the windows. After that it was going to be tinting but I think I'll hold off a while. It's so much darker in the cab.

Main reason for getting them was to be able to have the windows down 1" for airflow while parked and not worry about afternoon pop-up showers.

I have Putco in channels. I like them pretty well. They don't rattle at all. They were already on the truck when I bought it.

Not that I have experienced. Just make sure the first few times you do it go slow just in case as it seemed like it would catch the lip. I was nervous at first but it's all good.

not really. it may the first few times you roll the windows down. just go slow rolling them back up till the front lower edge starts going in. it could catch, but once it starts you would be fine.

edit: also this is why you are suppose to wait a day or 2 before you roll them down.

I've installed Weather Tech on several of my cars and I love them. They fit snug, and like others said, don't roll down your windows for say 2 days. When your window gets to the very top, you will hear/feel it push the glass in the tightened channel the first few days, but nothing major. It is one of the best upgrades I have done on my past cars.

My truck came with the AVS and a hood deflector...I never would have purchased them but since I already had them I really like them...especially in winter when you have to crank the defrost but the cab gets too hot and it's snowing/raining etc...you can crack the window and not worry about rain/snow coming in...
And you can leave your windows down a few inches and nobody can tell in the summer...

Don't forget your truck is hand wash only with them on because a car wash would rip them right off..

Get the in channels ones for sure. No issues 3 yrs running them. The stick on outside ones looks really cheap and I have seen plenty on trucks that comes undone and flop around while driving.

I'm pretty happy with my AVS in channel deflectors. This is my first set of in-channel, so I'm still kind of getting used to them vs. the old style.

    This, except for 4 years.
And nope. Window's go up and down just fine.

Only issue I had with mine was on the rear ones, they have double sided tape to hold them in channel. The tape didn't really want to stick, so I added my own and I was good to go.

Do your EGR use adhesive as well?
