Thanks, I volunteer me and my truck as test subjects.

Deployment of airbag is always a possibility, but I was talking about pins on memory chip. That's like a usb drive in your computer. It doesn't have effect on deployment like a door sensor does. And as of now, plan is to make "extension cord" and relocate airbag module as a hole and not even open it. Relocate it somewhere around above gas pedal. Out the way but readily accessible for me to disconnect. I've got module from ebay and disconnected yellow plug from it. Next is to buy harness airbag main plug. Then connect 56 pins from harness plug to airbag plug using about 3 feet or so of wire. Hook everything up and secure the box possibly with velcro.

I hope it does and he films it! (I'm just joking, I used to drive a tow truck, those things hurt a lot of people. The worst part is that they don't work. If they did every race organization would require them. I'll stick to five point harness and a roll cage thanks)

I live in a free state (for now). It is perfectly legal to "saw off" a shotgun as long as you pay the tax on it. It's not illegal to "roll back" my odometer as long as I don't lie to someone when I sell it. I'm not selling it, and it doesn't have an odometer, or a governor. I don't have emissions testing in my part of the state, and if we did every farm truck within 4 counties would fail. It's not illegal to mount blue strobe lights, only to use them while driving on public roads without a permit to do so, and nobody cares about tint out in the boonies. Mostly our windows are down so we can wave and say hi to people we know, even in the winter.

I believe you'll find there is a lot more to the memory chip set up than you are leading you self to believe. The air bag is just one part of the equation it sets all of the info up for that instant of deployment. Read rewrite constantly from all the sensors and is stored in the ECM also. Frankly you’re better off trying to hide your life secrets from Facebook and the rest of the internet, do you erase your hard drive after use? Bottom line no one really cares what's in your trucks computer unless your actions were criminal. NTSB uses the data for safety purposes and the general populous is far safer than they were in a 62 Buick. You will never be able to hide from “big brother” it just won’t happen. You are messing with a safety device if you sell the truck you could be held liable if someone was killed from your actions if the air bag did not deploy. It took electronic engineers a long time to come up with the algorisms involved and if someone takes a sawall to a circuit board it would lead me to believe you do not fit the description.

If someone had told me in 2000 that in 2014 I'd be carrying 64gig of flash-RAM on my keyring, I'd have asked WTF I'd EVER need that much storage for, and what they were smoking because I wanted some.
For perspective, in 2000, I was just moving off of dialup onto DSL, had just shut down my 14.4k BBS, and my system ran a pair of 200 MEGABYTE hard drives. SATA did not exist, and DOS/Windows could not address more than 137gb.

    I love Government shutdowns.

The less Congress does, the better off we are!
