No turns out you have to use the link provided in the email which the gentleman just provided me and it worked Yeah $69 for LR helps offset the cost of the book by Scott Kelby which I purchased 2 weeks ago. Only a week into my trial and not a big fan of Adobe but sometimes you just got to LOL.

 

cool... good to know... i woulda been mad if there was a better deal than $69.00

LR4 has been great for my workflow, but i couldn't pass up on the deal...

 

hey i've been to #38!!

 

Right now, I just have Gimp (which I'm liking MUCH less than I did 3 years ago), Paint.net, and the Nikon RAW editor.

I have the "Christmas present" version of CS5 that was given to the public domain a couple of years ago... just haven't taken the time to install it on this machine yet, and my old machine couldn't run it.

I assume that CS5 would be adequate?

Where is said deal? I may upgrade from 4 to 5 too. Is there a big difference?

 

As far as I know it's not huge. When I was looking into which to get (iirc) the main things people seemed excited about was a little more freedom with some of the touch up tools, like the healing/cloning brush being better and things like that. Of course this is just from my memory, from a while ago, from someone who's no pro by any means ha I'm sure there's a list of differences somewhere on the interwebs.

it looks like each customer is given a unique promo code for one time use... i have no idea what the differences are between 4 and 5... i just did it as the price was good...

 

That a different account other than the regular one I use to buy stuff? Like a pro or business account?

The process hasn't changed, but the main biggie for me was the improved spot removal tool. You can now click and drag to remove irregular objects instead of being limited to a spot. Still not quite as powerful at that as Photoshop though.

Also, the difference between 3 and 5 of LR is more than between 4 and 5. I went from 3 to 5 and have been happy as a clam.

 

i asked a couple pro photogs i know if anyone is planning not to use their promo code... if i can get a reply before it expires, i will kick ya down...

 

Damn damn damn....

#1 - I could not find the install files. I found a directory on my old "D" drive tagged "Adobe"... only thing in it was some photos. (edit, found the install files in a different folder)

#2 - Looked for the release and found it on Gizmondo... I thought it was CS5, but it was CS2.

If that'll work, I can download it again and give it a try, but I suspect not.

Now I'm bummed... I PROBABLY got one of those emails, but I get so many emails from BH that I just read the header on the phone and unless it's an order status, I delete it.
