Need help on tire and wheel sizes!

Hey guys,
I have a 2007 double cab 4x4 tacoma and I have 265 70r16's on it right now.i want to put a 3" lift on it and I am contemplating getting new wheels and tires. I want to get the trd wheels and I want to know if anyone has them in the size 285 70r17? If so, do they rub really bad with the 3" lift and did you take the mud flaps off? A few people have been asking this and I really want to clear it up thanks!


Also I was wondering if I keep my stock 16 inch rims, how tall of a tire can I go?31,32 or 33 inches thanks

 

I'm running 285/70/17s on a non stock rim. The rubbed some on the part of the flaps that sticks out closest to the tire in the front. I just removed the flaps trimmed that part out and put them back in. After I did an alignment there is no rub whatsoever except in reverse on the front part in full lock, not enough for me to consider trimming. My lift is considered 2.5". I think u will be fine with it as long as u don't mind very minimal trimming. Plastic only.
