Sorry for the fucking book here....been at school all day:eek:

Why meatless? I eat 3500k/day on a bulk with meat and it's no prob

Protein powder is just there to help you hit your macros without buying extra food, hence it being a supplement (for food). On a cut, bulk or anything, if you want to preserve muscle, you've got to get at least around 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. On a cut, I do more, just to make sure my fat loss isn't accompanied with muscle loss. On a bulk, I eat around 220g/day, just to be safe. So, if you can get 158g of protein without shakes, don't waste your money on them. If you're only getting 100-120g of protein per day, you need to throw in some more. Like Kyle said though, real, solid food is ALWAYS better than some manufactured powder. I only use protein powder b/c I'm always on the go, it's cheaper than an extra meal, and it's convenient. But to answer your question, I'd say do what you gotta do to AT LEAST get enough grams of protein per pound of bodyweight.

Cheap alternatives to protein powder and bars are canned tuna, greek yogurt, and my personal favorite, eggs.

Getting my meals consistent and making sure you eat enough every day will show the biggest improvement than any exercise ever will. After I dialed in my diet, it was like getting on AAS. I had been short-changing myself for almost a year b/c I wasn't getting enough calories. After I figured out how much I needed to eat to gain, it was on like a prawn who yawns at dawn.

Closest thing to tights I get to is wal mart or academy brand compression shorts in the summer to keep my taint resembling a scene from Gorillas in the Mist. IMO, no need to spend more than $10 on a piece of clothing whose primary function is to absorb ball sweat. And besides, those dudes that workout in tights with nothing over them creep me dafuq out (Crossfitters). I don't want to see a dude wearing the same pair of workout pants my g/f has on :D

lol those cottage cheese legs are hard to resist

I love them. The only thing I hate is boiled egg yolks. 99% of the time, I eat my eggs boiled, so I just chase the yolks with water, but if I've got time, nothing beats a fried egg sandwich. 6 eggs everyday for breakfast (along with a few other things)

I can't stand how chalky they are. I love the whites though. And I like the yolk cooked any other way, too. :notsure:

There's nothing to compress where the compression clothing is.

I totally pulled a Dom mazzetti today. Started curling 25's next to a chic I know and asked if she lifted. She said yes and asked me, I just curled away and said not even once.

I posted another thread in this (health section) for my wife. She's been wanting to lose weight but just don't know where to start. This morning she gets up in a raging mood. I was like wth is wrong with you, she says she's tired of her clothes being too tight. She's been looking online for workout videos and stuff like that. I guess I need you guys to point me in the right direction so I can help her. She's also been looking at green coffee bean extract or something like that.

Not that I have much experience with it but dailyburn.com, I tried it yesterday and it kicked my ass.. There are tons of programs on there if she doesnt want to go to the gym.. If you are looking for something else where she doesnt want to go to the gym try searching for Hotel Room workouts or living room workouts on google and you will find a ton.

She's got to figure out her maintenance calories, first (how many calories per day she can consume without gaining or losing weight). After that, she simply needs to subtract about 500 calories from that and eat that much per day to lose around 1 lb per week. Of course, it needs to be clean foods (http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=107266371) and split up into 5-6 meals to keep her metabolism running fast.

A very common and frustrating misconception with women is that, to lose weight they need to do cardio and not lift weights b/c they'll put on too much muscle. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Those scary ass female bodybuilders look like that b/c they take pro hormones. This is what a clean diet and a good cardio and lifting routine does to a woman's body:

Lifting weights and cardio, along with a 100% dialed-in diet is the fastest way to cutting bodyfat and getting toned up.

boiled eggs arent too bad... fact about chasing shit down with water.. When I bulked that was my life haha

I eat 8 eggs every morning... had to work my way to that for sure! Now its pretty easy to eat my omelette with a cup of veggies and a cup of oats w/berries and almond butter

She needs to start with calorie intake first... no workout can beat a diet

Zach said it so I wont elaborate... Another good tool to use is MyFitnessPal. It'll give the basic caloric intake she needs + losing weight

I recommend cardio + weights.. gotta tone and burn

ha that pic was just to show what a good workout plan does for a lady. Here is what I would call a perfect 10 (looks around to make sure my g/f isn't behind me :anonymous:)

Yeah, the only part of my diet is choking down all the boiled eggs. Anytime I'm able to fry or scramble them, it's a freaking relief.
