Depends on the generation. Pretty much everyone out there that we've seen have been in flat bottom jon boats and Shawnees. These bad boys. I want one so bad.

    Ridiculously stable.

Got an email from the lady at His Place Resort today that said they're starting to see some shad coming through the dam. The soonest we can get out there is like March 8, so I"m hoping the shad kill will be going crazy by then!

Caught more, but got them back a couple hours after catching them, and several of them I filleted both sides and stabbed them thru both gills and they were still flippin.

Nice! I've never done the ice fishing thing (we don't get much of that in Georgia...) but this was all over Field and Stream the last day or 2...thought you might find it interesting.

Cool video. That was a nice huge trout. Personally I'd never say "we've got it", until it's fully caught, I feel like if I did, that'd be the time it'd slide right back in the water. lol.

Yeah if you ever get a chance you should def go. It's a whole different fishing experience. When you're in a hut, it's really cool, especially if the water is clear (like in the second pic I posted, that was looking down to about ten feet to the bottom) It's like looking into an aquarium, you can watch them swim up etc.. Watch big Pike prowling around (Sometimes they'll come in and nail bait fish or others, cool watching the lake predators lol) . Have you some tiplines set around too.

It was only a 6 lb 5 oz...the pic is a bit deceiving since I was fishing solo. Yup indeed, I must of hit her in the head in about 3-4 feat of water.

Not to be that guy but I'm a sport fisherman also and it is extremely frowned upon to keep young game fish so I'm curious why you kept it? Did it die on retrieval?

Not offended at all. My "just a baby" comment was a bit misleading. I grew up catching cutthroat trout on light wt. poles & line as a youngster. We progressed onto largemouth and smallmouth bass. We got into striper (striped bass) fishing. Never before had I landed a fish this large...closest was a 32 lb. salmon up in Alaska! By saying "just a baby" I meant that compared to fish I've caught before, this marlin was HUGE!

I just checked a fishing report from Cabo, and striped marlin being caught at the end of 2013 are in the 90-180 lb. range. Also, yes, during the fight, the fish cup up its dorsal fin (see pic), and wouldn't be good to return to the ocean. Hope this clears up the confusion =).

I'm really big on the sport fish here are a few of my catches, these are all from panama

The fishing reports for cabo and the surrounding areas are sad right now. The Mexican government let netting ships in and they are destroying the game fishing. The first marlin I caught was in the sea of Cortez, the place I was was an hour south of cabo and the marlin was 500lbs basing off length. We caught 5 marlin in 1 day. We have been there 3 times but the 3rd time we didn't catch a marlin.

Thanks. Was supposed to have some more today, but circumstances changed after we had dropped the boat in, unfortunately.

I'll have pictures next weekend. Hopefully some double digit pound brown trout.
