LOL, I just read your truck description. "...and a load of stuff in the garage to install." :p

I really wanted to support a PNW company and use them. I called ECGS and got a price quote. I then called JT's and got a price quote. They were significantly higher priced, refused to price match, and do not offer the same warranty of ECGS. I don't know how Chase does it, but he beats them on price every time. Plus, he doesn't charge core for about a week in order to give you time to swap diffs and send him your old one, ships your third in a 5 gallon bucket with a return label...just an all around easy to deal with dude.

Will- Yes, it will cost you some coin, but just handle it yourself. I wouldn't install a factory Toyota third if you paid me.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Still looking, there's a low-mileage one in CA that a guy on Pirate posted. Haven't been able to contact him yet, their site is jacked up and won't let me register

Trying to get a brand-new one from DieselToys shipped up here.

Sorry Will for all the trouble.

It would be tempting to escalate the issue. BUT at the same time, you might be better off cutting your losses and going with a new third (if you can come up with the coin). In the long run, you'd be better off. Depending on what you go with, you could have something much more robust.
With a warranty replacement, you'll run the risk of this happening again.

I'd love to have a garage I could actually drive my truck into - ours is basically a gear storage/workshop area.

Btw - Jill liked the pic you sent of Levi

I miss my old garage. No access into the house but it was 2 car. We might move out of this house. We miss our dog, and if our landlord won't let us have her we might go.

Levi didn't want to touch the grass. He was afraid of it. So he was doing downward and upward facing dog to avoid it.

Yeah I tend to agree. If I didn't have any idea how to turn a wrench, I might be freaking out but at this point, I'd really just like to get it rolling again.

I'm actually trying to make arrangements for the link that Ben provided earlier in this thread. It's in Vancouver so I'd need to pick it up Friday after work but that would get the truck rolling by end of weekend.

Of all things, my wife wants to escalate this with corporate. She seems a bit pissed it's not getting covered :anonymous:

I am literally right now trying to talk her out of giving the dealership a piece of her mind when we go return the loaner tomorrow.

Yeah. Even though they might deserve it, might not want to completely burn the bridge. Never know when you'll have to go back. You want them to remember that you were decent and over the top patient.

Well, so as a resident new guy to Tacoma's, this forum and Washington State, what is going on around here? I am not a new off-roader, but this is my first shiny new truck and once I settle in I am looking forward to getting it dirty.

Spring is coming, and that means camping, fishing, mountain biking and other misc outdoor activity season to me. Do thread member have meetups? Inquiring minds (myself) would like to know.

Also, seriously this weekend I would imagine the fiancee and myself would like to get muddy... Anywhere quick and easy for newbies?

Eh, see my Build Thread sig link. Too many mods to list.
Indeed they (we) do! I just went to my first one recently myself and can't wait for the next one.

There are details and pics of the fun/carnage from the last meet over here in this thread.

    Welcome!
