Do any TW members have a g35? Does anybody daily drive their g35?
The wife and i were searching for a used car to daily drive. Our max budget was $8000. If it were my choice we would have whatever $500 craigslist rolling shitbox we first came accross. The wife wants something sporty that will last at least 4 years. The vehicle will see about 65 miles a day about 6 times a week. Ive tried to get her to look at some of the obvious choices (accord, camry, civic, corolla) but no dice, she wants something sporty. In my searching i was surprised to see some g35's come up in our budget. She was also interested in a rsx or tsx but in my area they are just over our budget for anything with decent miliage.
The g35's im seeing in our budget are coupes and 4 doors and 2003-2006 model year. If i could get into a low milage coupe in our budget i wouldnt complain, i just want to make sure they are a reliable vehicle with no major issues.

    I do not trust a G35's reliability.

I would take a closer look at RSX's, 06+ Civic Si's, Scion TC.

My parents had a G35, it became very problematic as it got older and the gas mileage was never good.

I had both an RSX-S and an 06 Si and loved them both, but the Si was a nicer vehicle to drive.

Out of the optional cars you mention, they're all FWD 4cyl - so they should be better on gas than a RWD V6 right?

If you want to run premium the honda products would be good cars. 350Z would be a better choice than a G35.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
I agree on the Civic SI. Its nicely priced, standard options are more than enough, and a very fun car to drive.

If you like stick shift, you will love this car. Best feeling clutch/shift Ive ever driven. I would even venture to say that if you dont know how to drive stick, you can still drive this car, its that easy/smooth.

Its not fast, but def has a bit of getup when needed. Probably the best DD/fun driver combo you can find on the market. The only other car I would recomend would be a 6-sp 2.4L Accord Coupe. Pretty much the same car but the accord is a bit more "grown up" and classy compared to the "teenager" look the civic has.

how do you guys compare g35 to the likes of civic, rsx, or tc? what 2 doors lol. ...

the guy is looking for a rwd sporty 6cyl. op get her to test drive a sports package w203 c class, or a 330is , your getting a much more reliable and better quality car maybe look at a the lexus is too.
