As a guy who used to have the same but an 05 and did some mods to it, here are my thoughts:
1 - Save up for a mid-travel, the Fat Bob's will get you there but it;s not comfortable.

2 - Cruise control (if you don't have it)

3 - Intermittent wipers (again if you don't have it)

4 - Best bang for your buck are a good set of 235/75r15s. You can go larger but that presents other things like trimming and re-gearing the diff.

Start looking at everyones builds, especially those that are like your own truck. Make a list of everything that you would like to do from the free stuff to the very expensive and start prioritizing what you can do.

Tha part im having trouble with is it has different wiring for the lock and unlock. Does anyone know if tacomas have positive on negative locking switches. Thanks

Harbor freight sells the little Spot Blasters that would do the trick (If you have an air compressor). They're ultra cheap too. Check this link below. This mod is one of the SMARTEST mods I've seen so far on any forum. It should be this way from the factory and wouldn't raise the cost of a truck by more than .003 cents or something.

anyone know if sanding it would work? obviously wiping off the metal shavings prior to re-using would be necessary.

Looked all over this thread for a good 12 volt power idea for my project but didn't realize how easy it was. I passed a 10awg wire straight through the firewall. Went straight through the sleeve in the boot for the hood latch. a4uzevup_03d9bdb1c71917521833e67151d3dc85f1860314.jpg

Real simple fix for some console light...used a usb adapter, [flush style] and usb 3-led on flex mount. Used the right 12v source, routed the flex to the upper-back of the large storage box, small clip and screw to keep it in place. Sends enough reflection to light the general area and cup holders. Leave it plugged in all the time. Easy to replace.

You can Either take the dash apart and unsolder the LED off of the circuit board or make some connections on the tire pressure module under the dash behind the ac controls
