that sucks. CBI and i know the Original ATO bumpers have a little thing that keeps them from closing. i almost always for get to pull it up when i close it :p

also, i dont have an issue with the rods on teh cab side because of tool box. almost 2 feet of room for them.

Haven't broken the open pin on my tire gate since I upgraded the pin from the original cast POS to a milled metal pin. Its just now bent from when it popped open at Shoe Creek.

That AP aluminum rack looks like the way to go for RTT. Only 25lbs.

Id just be concerned with tree branches. Specially considering all the wheeling spots around here. Dont need to be wacking and smacking a $1000 tent everytime you offroad.

An edit to my post, i would think it wouldn't line up if you chop so thats probably not an option without bending the top pipes out or bottom pipes in.

I'm not overly concerned about bearing up the tent cover. Honestly the most wheeling I do is forest roads and some light wheeling trips . The majority of the warm months I spend making weekend runs to the outer banks. Now that I've got a truck capable of spending multiple days self sufficient I'll start taking the woman down to Portsmouth island and beach camping and eventually get us a jetski.

I'm way more concerned with campability than wheelability.

Basically no rules. Abandoned island, ghost town more or less, beach wheeling, camping, fishing, all allowed and can launch jetskis from the beach.

Only accessible through Atlantic, NC. There are two ferry services that will take 4x4s over to it.

There aren't any residents on the island.

Closed until March 16th. I would consider putting next weekend on hold and waiting to head down there on the 16th.

I'm out on next weekend. May be in for the 16th, just waiting to see how much OT I rack up.
