I don't understand the obsession with that car... At all... I don't get it... It's like a less girly version of a scion tC (yes I know boxer, RWD.... Still don't get it)

And 20 bucks says Kase shows up and says DRIFTCAR

    drive one. you'll see then.

same principal on why the miata is the most raced car by the general population. it's more fun to drive a slow car at 10/10, than to drive a fast car at 6/10.

not saying the miata or scion/subaru are slow cars, but that's why they are so popular. at the end of the day, you're buying a car like that to have fun, and that's exactly what they are.

Still don't get it... Miatas are gay too

It's not a sports car... It's like a 2 door corolla... It's like the Toyota version of a Hyundai tiburon

if your track racing in stock form, of course, those will be the faster cars. from a platform standpoint, the frs and brz will come out on top.

the VQ37HR can only handle 400 to 500 hp, while the new boxer block can take over double that. how you get to that point is an entirely different qwuestion, up to the owner to figure out, but the fact that the platform can handle it, is what will bring it forward.

i agree. z is far better for your goals. I have no aspirations to drift or hit 200 mph. i want to go to a tight turning track and make the turns like it's on rails.

and i'm not talking about what stock engines as a whole can handle (as in how much boost or other power adder you can put through it) i'm talking about block strength. if you're going to modify for power, tear the whole thing apart, and rebuild it the way you want. that's where block capacity comes in. and since 1000 hp in a car that light is not so useful, you bet your ass a properly built boxer running 500 (half capacity) at the crank will hold up better than the z engine running at nearly max capacity to get the same numbers. it's like building a factor of safety into a bridge or bolt that you design. like the tacoma, i'm in it for reliability and longevity. i could get a jeep and put the same money into that, that's in the tacoma and have a much more capable crawler, but i'd have broken half the parts on it already.

that said, i agree, it's not the best. but like i said, the ultimate goal is fun. between it's characteristics and reliability (projected at this point), then for my purposes, i believe that is the most fun for me (that i can afford at this point at least)

Went to do a little modification to a ram mount and now the dremel won't work. Guess my project tonight will be to rebuild it as best I can.
