*Did* do. There wasn't a field to say current or not haha.

I was in for 6 years as a 3C0. Made E-5 before I left. 3C0 has been merged into the 3D career family and I have no idea how all of that works. I was a Network Engineer for all intents and purposes.

I was in Okinawa for two years and at Langley for 4 (including one as a civilian contractor.)

Make sure to check this out.
For Washington, late fall/early spring are tough times for trails. Snow wheeling has to mean good snow, not icy trash snow, or else you get trails that are too slippery to do much.
Once things heat up, the trail options increase. However, I consider the trails up here to be moderate or above for skill level, so your options may be limited to 'way too easy' or 'un-doable'. We do our best to keep damage minimal and safe (at least most of us do :p), though there's been some learning moments.

Even though our last outing had damage, I still say that Tahuya is a good beginner place. All of our damage situations were avoidable, or from (what I believe) unrelated mechanical failure.

Before you come on a run, try to build up a minimal recovery and safety kit:
    Front tow point
Rear tow point, such as this recovery hitch, which mounts in your tow receiver
recovery strap, such as an ARB 2-3/8" x 30'
    leather palm work gloves
spade-style shovel, securely attached to truck
2 or more bow shackles stamped with a WLL of 4.75 Tons, ideally made by Crosby/Van Beest if you can manage
Spare tire in the same size as your current set, mounted on a rim
    full change of clothes
    food
    flashlight
    some tools

    oh hayyyyyy hahah :D

WELLLL I got good news and bad news about my truck. good news is, its fixed. cost $1000 for everything. Going to pick it up tonight.

Bad news is just what they were afraid of. The bumper is tweaked enough to where it wont go back on :( sooo now I'm getting a hold of people to see if there is anyone around that isn't busy this weekend to help me out with it. Hopefully that works out. Was going to have Jake fix it when he gets back but looks like Ill have to get someone else :(

Thanks for the link to that thread, it is a good one.

I am covered on 90% of the gear, and I can pick up the bow shackles pretty easily. I have a shovel, but it is more for snow and something with a tougher edge for dirt and rocks should be easy to find.

This is not even close to my first time wheeling, I need places to go more than anything. As it is a brand new truck a muddy trail would be awesome for a start... Well maintained logging roads on BLM land? I will also check out the links in that thread because it seems like they would be a good place to start.

Not sure where your at in WA but there are lots of roads down I-90 or HWY 2. Typically Ill just drive off a road and can find something fun. If not Ill turn around and try again.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Thanks Joe! I just called him to see what he can find. I let him know what it is I was looking for (Used engine under 50k, not a rebuild). He will be calling me back if he finds anything.
