just noticed this is for a prerunner. will it work on my 2012 4x4 DCSB v6?

**edit. i just called procomp and they said a lift for a 06 prerunner would not work on my 2012 4x4.

What was the reason the spindles are the same whether it is to be used on a prerunner or a 4x4?

 

that's what i thought too.. the guy i talked to just said it would be different. i dont know if it was the year difference, 2x4 vs 4x4, or both. he said the kits would be "different". maybe they would still 'work' though.

 

No reason why it wouldn't work. They don't make 2 separate kits ( 2wd/4wd)

 

Agreed.. Procomp doesn't make two separate kits. If you look on 4 wheel parts website, whether you chose 4x4 or 2wd pre runner, its the same exact kit with the same part#

 

I'll call them back again tomorrow and tell them this. And maybe read them the part number.

 

I have on 08 PreRunning with this Kit and 33's. 76k miles. No issues.

 

So I called Procomp. The rep basically said that pro comp makes three different 6" lifts for the 2nd generation Tacomas. They make two stage one (no coil over) and a stage two (coil over) kit. He said that the two stage one kits are identical in parts for 05-11 tacoma and 12-14 tacomas (but they have different part#). The third kit they make are the stage 2 coil over kits for 05-11 tacomas. He said they don't make different lifts whether 2wd or 4x4. He said "they haven't officially released a coil over kit for the 12-14 tacomas but it might work considering the parts are the same." He hinted, and I'm "guessing" that pro comp hasn't put out a coil over kit for the 12-14 tacos because they might be trying to improve and put out a better coil over for the kit. Thats why they might not have "officially" released one... but thats just me guessing.
