Im hoping I can get an exhaust put on for my birthday. so far, I think i wanna go with the 40 series flowmasters single in dual out. If I decide that this is too loud and annoying, all I would have to do is swap out the muffler to a 50 series, correct? I shouldn't have to get new dual pipes right? That way I can sell the 40 and not lose much money on the trade.

I just called my muffler shop that installed my 50 series and he said the 40 series is a little shorter. I love my 50 series it sounds perfect to me.

ok, i keep goin back and forth but i think it mould be better to start with the 50 instead of the 40 since my parents still are around. I just dont want it to sound like a little civic either though.

Save yourself some $$ and install if yourself.

You can get the Flowmaster 50 #17432 kit online. Prices have changed a bit since I bought mine.
I bought mine from this place:
    http://www.wundercarparts.com/searc...r=Flowmaster&gclid=CPL_jIylopYCFQNfFQodbQxz5w

My husband and I installed it in a few hours.

No welding required... it's all bolt-on.

You can have it welded after you install it, but that's only personal preference.

Grab your dad (or your mom), put a wrench in their hand and tell them to help you!! Tell 'em you're saving some money!!

ok sounds good then. i think i'll just see if i can start with the 50 and if i decide its not loud enough, i'll sell it and get a 40 to replace it. One more thing: The 50 is still gonna sound about the same deepness and tone as the 40 right? Its just that the 40 is louder? Am i correct about this?

When you say the kit is all bolt on do you all those pieces that are shown on the website go together? It is all not 1 long piece? Whenn you put these pieces together is the fit super tight? As in no need to weld?

i dont think you have to weld anything. ive seen 2 tacomas on here with the 50 series and they used the supplied clamps in the kit. but since i will prolly have it installed at a shop, i assume they will weld it together. As for the fit, idk about all that but it should fit pretty well if its made for OUR trucks specifically

It's all in pieces..... with all the hardware/clamps that you need.

You don't need to weld it. It can be tightened up enough to be firm/stable.

The hardest part about the install is fine tuning everything for clearance. Everything from how far you slide the pipes into eachother to the angle of each piece (bent pieces) and how you want the tips to stick out at the back.... It's really close back at the leaf springs, again....fine tuning.

Welding is all a matter of personal preference.
