    yeah......its called "normal". some synthetics quieten it down a bit, but its still gonna be there no matter what you do.

    Iwas at the dealer for throttle module issues and asks him about the shims. He said that the 2010 got away from the shim and went to the adjustable lifters. He also said in the 10 years he has only done a handful of shims. Not sure about the manual adjusters just going on his word. Engine data not available on our computers at work yet.

    my '08 has the same ticking noise. I was told by Toyota that this is normal.
