WHAT A FUCKING GAME WWWOOOOTTTTTT CANT BELIEVE THEY PULLED THAT OFF. First 55 mins though that was probably the best team game I ever seen a womans team play by the US. They had speed, played hard and shut them down. Once they got that flukey goal I knew it was all over, no womens team can hide their emotions like that lolol

I may get booted from the country for bringing this up, but am I the only one who didn't see any contact at all between Hayley Wickenheiser and the US player on the breakaway when Canada drew that last penalty? Tough for the ref not to blow the whistle on that play at full speed though. Weird that they would not award a penalty shot, the US would have probably been better off if they gave her one. It's difficult to defend a 4 on 3.

We just installed a 47" smart TV in the boardroom at work yesterday. Good timing, I have scheduled a meeting at 11:00 tomorrow

 

What was the call, crosscheck? Hayley's stick made the motion as she fell and Wick went down at the same time. Hard call to make in the moment but this is Wick were talking about, HHOFer right? Why else would she fall on a breakaway?

And yes, you'll be booted from the country. I'll keep the blanket on my couch for you lol

 

Yes , cross checking was the call , then that ref pointed to centre signalling a penalty shot , then she changed her mind and said it was just a powerplay

 

Lame call, the contact was incidental, but at full speed I can understand why the ref made the call. To me the worse call was the makeup call on the "slash" to even things up before that last call. Giving any team a 5-3 in OT is pretty much handing them the win. Oh well, US girls didnt finish when they had the chance. Gotta tip your hat to the Canadian girls who didn't give up.

 

good point, not sure what it has to do with yesterdays game as that didn't happen.
it was 3 on 3 when the last penalty was called (should have been called tripping) and ended 4 on 3.

Edit: checked the game sheet and the Canadian penalty expired 1 second before the OT winner was scored.
but you're right, the 5th Canadian player with one foot still in the box was obviously the difference in the game.
