Really? i do all the time..like shooting an area with lots of shadows. Or evening shots or night shots even. I like it a lot. I use it all the time.

That's what's nice about HDR. To retain it. But yea if you bump the shadows too much you can for sure tell..I cath my self doing that all the time.

Here's an HDR I did today. Easy to see the lighting effect it (photomatix) throws looking at the wall behind the boots.

But I just ordered Lightroom from B&H.

I thought that LR was an add-on to PS with it's description "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom"

If it's not a standalone, you guys owe me a case of Guinness.

None yet, but its about to get rolling.
I asked about the FD lens I bought a few days ago. What's y'all opinion on this, should I buy the adapter for 35$ and just use it or try to recoup some of my cost and buy the 50mm 1.8 I meant to buy to begin with?

When I combine my hobbies (photography, bicycle, motorcycles, truck, guitars, other instruments, suits/etc, etc, etc), I cringe a little at the fact that I could have a massive savings account right now. I went through a bit of a early life crisis where I realized when I settle down I won't be able to have ten hobbies, money, free time and the youthful vigor to get out and be active and travel, so I looked at my savings and realized I wanted a bike, camera and guitar more than to be responsible to this point. I'm 25 and now that I've bolstered my habits I'm back to my usual saving and I'm pretty good at it so I'm not too worried. I'm glad I splurged and got stuff I wanted while I'm young and am enjoying it all so much. ESPECIALLY photography. It has helped me with more than I ever imagined and I love it. I never would have discovered my love for it had I not spent some dough ha

Back to saving now though. I'm pretty frugal with little things so I can enjoy big things :)

I'm 27 and have the same problem you do. I seemed to get really obsessed with a hobby and go full throttle. I had to have a mountain bike last year, got one for 600$ and have rode it 3 times. At least this photography kick doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon.

So did a little photo shoot with my lady. I haven't shot with the intention of black and white before so that was cool. It completely changes the way an image looks and feels. Pretty cool stuff. I kept a couple in color just for fun.

Messing with mirrors is difficult. I had a few shots that were pretty good, but I was in them and it was too much to edit out. Anyway as always let me know what you guys think.

Did you bump up the clarity or contrast high in the color ones? She seems to have a kind of harshness to her face on the mirror. Almost has a high contrast HDR look to it.

Yeah a I did. I was hoping that it would help when I switched it to B&W. I seem to like that clarity slider a little too much. lol The last one I bumped a decent amount. The second to last one I love. It might be a little much, but I like it.

lol, yeah, I am married so I know how that goes. Except last month, when all my mod monies was already gone, and found an awesome deal on lights, she gave me money out of her horse fund stash...
I owe her the money back of course, but I was still able to score the lights.

My truck is a direct reflection of this statement..haha broke as shit but get to wheel like a mofo :)

eh..thats a cheap bike really, no loss there. Start riding man :D
