Hey everyone, I'll start with the short version:

TL;DR - Was planning on getting new suspension, wheels & larger tires for my truck in a couple months. Tires need replacing now, so that means everything else does too. Woo money! I need help finding the right wheels to go along with this, and also a general review to make sure I'm not making noob mistakes. My alternate form of transportation is my Ducati, which isn't great for business commuting, so I need some input... soon-ish.

    Truck: 1999 Tacoma, V6 SR5, 4WD, access cab

    Tires:

    • Current: 31x10.5R15
    • Want: 275/65R18 All-Terrain KO
    • Going from 30.7 -> 32.1 = [+] 1.4" OD
    Lift:

    • Decided on a 2" OME full system with add a leafs in the rear to level it out
    • So with this lift and those tires, 2" + (1/2)1.4" = ~2.7 inches higher.
    Bumper:

    • ARB Bull Bar Winch mount
    • How heavy is this? Do I get the heavier OME lift system?
    Wheels:

    • Oh god I do not know. Someone please help.
    • Requirements:
      • Black
      • stick out ~.50" - .75" (can be up to 1" depending) from truck.
Okay so I am having trouble locating 18" wheels that have .5" less backspacing than my current ones. I read the wheel fourms/stickies and cannot determine my exact current backspace. Does anyone have any good ideas?

Was thinking of going to the local 4WheelParts and having them look up their database but would really appreciate info from you guys.

    So in conclusion:

    • Does everything look like it will fit? 32" tires + 2" lift?
    • Heavy OME springs for ARB bumper? (will slap on a winch in the future)
    • Need black wheels that fit 275/65R18 with .5-.75" (1" considering) less backspacing than stock tacoma wheels.

With a 2" lift could I teoretically throw on a larger tire and use a different more accessible wheel? Something like a 275/70R17? That's ~ 32.8" OD, which is .7 above the 275/65R18.. Still fit?

Call Wheelers Offroad and explain to them what you're after. They are knowledgeable and have never pushed a sell on me (albeit I do end up purchasing from them anyway because they usually have the lowest price and awesome customer service).

Another place is Cruiser Outfitters. I hear that they are quite knowledgeable as well; I just haven't purchased anything from them... yet.

    Thanks guys!

Jay - Yes I'm gonna get the heavier kit. Those wheels do look nice, although they don't have much information about detailed dimensions. I might have to stop by a discount tire later today.

Wrat - Those guys look legit. Seems like I'm gonna be making a phone call today.

Fouillard - that's pretty sweet info, and it gets me really close to what I need to know. With your 8" wide wheels & 3.56 backspacing, how much do your tires stick out from the body? I know they're flush with your flares, but if I know how much they stick out from the body I can do some algebra and figure out exactly what I'm looking for.

(I might be annoying and pm you later if you don't see this lol)

Thanks everyone! Went to 4WheelParts yesterday and they quoted ~$4.5k for all these parts with installation (estimating average price on wheels). Seems close, but are they hosing me?

Eh, see my Build Thread sig link. Too many mods to list.
I have those same MB Wheels now in 16" and love them.

And the second link Jay posted were my second choice and looked really good when test fitted too.

That's about what I would expect for parts and labor to install. Figure 2-2.5K for the bumper, suspension, and tires. Add the other small misc. things that will need to go on there like an extended brake line, new bolts, new u-bolts, bushings, etc. Then probably 10 hours or so to remove and put new stuff on. then the cost of alignment, mounting, and balancing.

Hey Stikle, can you comment on how far your wheels stick out from your body? Or are they flush?

I can't specifically right now as it's home in the garage and I'm at work. However, if I recall correctly, they stick out 1-2". I know they do to some extent because I get a crapload of spray up the sides. Not that I'm complaining, because they look badass. :)

You can get a little idea from this pic. Look at the back end:

One last question stikle, what size tires are you running on that picture?

16" Coopers (which is around 32.5" I think) and 16" MB Wheels.

I totally forgot about this, sorry. My tires actually stick out around 3-4".
