That is what everyone says to do but if you can't use all the stuff with a smart phone cause of the battery why have a smart phone

 

Haha good point. It will still do those things, but the big battery drains are location services being on all the time, and the constantly running Facebook etc updating things. I have that crap off. If I want to go on Facebook I'll open the app, I don't want some tile on my home screen updating constantly. Same for location services, if I need gps I'll turn it on. Google/apps don't need to know where I'm at 24/7.

I need a smart phone for work though. Only thing I have it set up to constantly update is my email. Besides texts and calls all other notifications are off, auto app updating of etc...

 

I'm seriously ready to lose the iphone and go back to a basic flip or slider--sick of all the extra $$$!

That would be nice. If you don't use it for work/email/navigation etc no reason you can't

 

I will never turn location tracking off. Left my phone at a dunkin donuts, and had no idea where it was. Used my friends phone to track it, just had to open the trackmyiphone app or whatever it was and log into my itunes account, and a map showed me exactly where my phone was. If location tracking was off i might have still found it, but that would have been one of the last places i would have looked for it.

 

If you come up with a good answer to that last bit, you let me know

Same at home. But at work it's much less discreet to just take your phone

Driving back to bwatta from Dartmouth I decided not to take highways or the gps and ended up in the middle of the Freetown state Forrest last night. It was awesome!
