Either way, this is going to make history, and a team is going to be want to be linked to it. I think before he may have been a 4-5 rounder, but now maybe a 3-4.

 

I think he did it so everyone would be talking about him... and it worked. He just got tons of media, and its not like he is a criminal or something. He is trying to be the Ellen of the NFL, and that could translate to lucrative sponsorships, and all the gay ass in the world. It was a smart move. At least he didn't have an imaginary GF...

And adding to the Harbaugh rumors, who wouldn't want a turn around coach like that... Everyone was trying to steal our OC and DC as head coaches when everyone was looking for head coaches after Black Monday. I don't doubt someone would suggest it, and in the offseason all it takes is one utter mention and it's wildfire. People are hungry for development intel

 

Chris Mortensen verified the story last night through different sources. That's two of the most respected people in NFL reporting. What this shows is that the rumored major tension between Harbaugh and his GM is real. Evidently they don't like each other very much and Harbaugh wants the type of gig Carroll has, full personnel control. Ditto, from what we hard it the Hawks had lost to SF our defensive coordinator was going to be the new coach in CLE. We lost our D-Coord last year to Jax.

As for Manning, we heard it was going to be the Seahawks too. Carroll and Schneider flew to Denver? to try and make an offer before he signed but Manning really liked Elway and Denver and never left to take other interviews with west coast teams.

Lots of coaches have been traded btw. Gruden went from the Raiders to the Bucs for two 1st rounders and two second rounder.

Florio is one of the most respected journalists in the NFL. He's not making this up. That's shocking.. I'm sure he's a pain in the ass but talk about immediate success. They must think they have the talent on the roster to replace Harbaugh without much issue. I'm sure for Jim it's frustrating as hell to want more roster input and seeing Carroll's success.

ESPN - 49ers owner Jed York confirms to Sacramento Bee Browns asked about Jim Harbaugh; S.F. had "no interest"

Mehh part of me thinks that the Browns are willing to do/say anything that'll make them newsworthy. And in this case, sucks for their current coach, but he has to know that he was like the 30th person interviewed lol.

There could possibly be a connection before because former Browns GM Mike Lombardi and Harbaugh are close, but Lombardi got nixed last month.

For all we know, Browns owner saying that there were talks could all of been:

Browns: Is Jim interested?
Jim (or agent): Let's check..... No.

 

Obviously from my perspective as a Hawks fan I love it. Trying my best to set that aside but there is more and more coming out about just how strained the relationship is with Harbaugh and the front office. Which echoes the same issues he had at Stanford and San Diego.

Pride is a VERY powerful thing. Evidently Harbaugh has more than your average NFL coach. It ruined Holmgren's relationship with the Hawks front office, which pushed him out a year or two early and it probably cost the Cowboys another ring or two when Jerry and Jimmy couldn't get a long. For the Hawks it went from a SB appearance to disfunction in 3 years. The GM was making personnel decisions Holmgren did not like.
