I'm sealing it and putting extended breather on it. The m8000 eat mud through the stock vents.

for $99 shipped.

got my small warn parts from http://www.quadratec.com/

they rebuild them there as well, but I wanted to do mine myself.

I got pics of the m8000 issues....looking for them now

 

water sneaky in here... warn has options to 'clock' the winch. this means 2 bolt holes are left open. in the bottom of the pic you can see the one not used is clogged full of mud. I shall seal them up after a good cleaning and paint.

also the winch has 2 stock indents that let shit in and out. ones to the right of the bottom hole and one is just under the left bolt hole.



my plan is to drill through the motor case and put a breather tube (motor below fubar)

 

motor fry from short not water/mud

 

gears sealed in good........no crappy paper seals or shims here





drum has shitty paint. I may powder coat or just paint with high heat.

new motor is a little longer but no worries. same: diameter, shaft, bearings.

Well I got those TRD wheels they are really nice if anyone wants them 900 bucks

 

Almost new everything in this winch? you are powder coating the case as well right?

 

Thinking about blacking it out. Just gonna try to take all the paint off first. Steel wool and acetone ftw.

I tried the local body place and they wanted 100 bucks and a first born child

 

winch was low use when I got it just had fried motor. gears and everything is good internally. only replacing mounting bolts, seals, bearings, & motor.

powder may be a pita for the case because ill have to grind it to fit all the bearings and seals. prob just paint it like the drum...who knows
