I'm currently looking at purchasing a 2013 SR5 access cab, and really becoming a member of TW. But I would like to know what I am loosing compared to the TRD package, and if its worth shopping around some more. I do plan on lifting the truck so I'm thinking the suspension difference wont be a such a big deal right? Also would like some input on after market locking diff Pros/cons. I am more curious about the off roading features like the locking diff, hill ascent control etc. that makes it so special Any Input is appreciated, thanks!!!

SR5 vs TRD. TRD interiors are different, better seats, tow package, tranny cooler for auto, ATRAC works very well, locking diff is a plus, bed outlet.

Well then you need to decide how important the locker and ATRAC system is to you

You could save some dough going with the SR5 model and put that into your mods

You can get the tow package on the SR5 model and it used to come as standard equipment on the Canadian trucks but that may have changed but it's definitely an option if not standard

    Loud as hell URD exhaust!
Certain SR5 bundles come with upgrades, mine came with the tow package, leather wrapped steering wheel/shifter, and XM radio.

In my opinion the SR5 package is the best buy if you plan on adding any mods.

The rear locker is over rated plus the small differential is weaker.

If you like to work on your rig and will mod it get a SR5; but if you're not get the TRD.

I didn't think the two package was a gimme on every TRD... I could be wrong. Oh, and I went SR5 and put the saved money into lift, tires, wheels... well all of my mods. Still sitting about 1,500-2,000 ahead.

You're right. Mines a trd off road and doesn't have the tow package

Very false info.....you can add the tow package to the SR5 and probably the base if you want as well.

OP, reading through the thread with the mods you sound like you're going to do, I would get an SR5. If you're going to add aftermarket lockers and replace the suspension, might as well save the money.
