In a normal spot and if someone double parks in a busy lot, I part 3 inches from their driver side door.

Oh, my bad. We aren't talking about the pink variety.

Shopping? I try to avoid that as much as possible. SO, when I go "shopping", you know for beer or softball equipment, I just park wherever. I do try to park next to cars rather than trucks and SUV's, however, because my nerf bars will block their doors from hitting my truck.

I usually try to protect one side with some kind of barrier...an island or something. Do NOT use cart return stables...that's asking for it.

Typically I park out in the deserted portion of the parking lot to avoid any bump ups.

At my apartment, there's this one section where all the folks with prize vehicles/weekenders park their stuff. We all know each other, and these guys are just as obsessive about their babies as I am about mine...so we're all super careful when parking/pulling out. I have a guys HIGHLY modified early 90s Mustang on one side of my taco, and since I'm on the outside, I park my daily driver on the other side of my taco. It's ding and donged all over, so I really don't care if it takes a few more scratches in the line of duty.

Also: Always leave a trailer hitch in, regardless of whether or not you tow. If someone rear ends me, I have to purchase a new drop bar, or maybe a new hitch at worst. Whoever runs into me is going to need a new bumper, grill, and possibly radiator and other front end shit. Just one more deterrent...

Closest to the front door--The sooner I'm outta there the less chance of bad shit happening. I'm on the clock!:D

I park in the outskirts of the parking lot, just to be safe.

Heh, yeah I do that too. Was out furniture shopping the other day and pulled into a place where an 05-08 Speedway Blue TRD Sport DC was parked. I drive a SWB TRD OR DC. Couldn't resist parking next to it.

Actually caught the guy on the way out as he was parked in front of the store loading a mattress. I idled up beside him and we had a laugh. Good times.

Really far away and if its a smaller lot or more crowded i look for the nicest car/truck to park it next to, praying they value their paint as much as i value mine. I also try to avoid snowbirds at all cost.

Stay away from two doors and anything that is taller than mine.:) I will always try to park on an end or next to a grocery cart container that I know doesn't move.
