Travis, if you already have a winch with a steel line and roller fairlead, I wouldn't hesitate to put it all on and have it to use until you want to switch to synthetic. If and when you switch to synthetic you'll, of course, have to unspool and respool anyway making all of this a moot point. I wouldn't mind having synthetic line myself but it's not exactly cheap so it's in my long and ever growing list of "truck stuff I want". In the mean time, I've used my winch a few times now to recover myself and others with the steel line and big old ugly roller fairlead. It worked well.

And you can call me whatever you want, just don't call me "late for dinner".
Lots of people call me EJ, some just call me dickhead.

Alright, EJ. Anyway, the winch came with synth line on it. He gave me the steel cable that was never used. I will probably put the winch On the bumper, order plastic rollers, feed hook through while replacing rollers, install bumper. So it might be a week or two :(

Weird. You only have to take off the hook on mine. What a pita lol. I do want synthetic eventually.

Just remember too if you switch from steel to synthetic to get a new fairlead.

We watched a guy on carnage about kill himself because he had synthetic and NO fairlead. It had a spot for it but he didn't have one and it was rubbing against angle iron and sliced it. He did and endo and got knocked out while still mashing the gas. Luckily the buggy got wedged enough when it got back on its wheels that it didn't go anywhere. It was just bouncing in place.

I was amazed at how perfectly it coiled up.

EJ I will find a pic of how my thimble is connected later but it actually wraps around the end of the thimble in a groove and then back into the line. Factor 55 makes a bad ass thimble that simply connects to the factory loop on the end of most lines. But that thimble is $150.

Travis with the way the ARB bumper is you have to have the rollers installed before attaching the fairlead to the bumper. The winch just has to be bench pressed into place and held there while someone else starts the bolts. Definitely not a one person job. Also too you would be best to unspool the line and give it a look since it is used. This way you can check the drum at the same time. It isn't hard to respool it and you can rest assured you have it spooled correctly for piece of mind. PM me about an install day.

I want to try the cookie dough ones. But I'm afraid I won't like them and then what do I do with an entire package? haha
