Hello, i have been undecided for months of which lift to get. (I have READ every thread)...I would like 3" of lift but not have a Stiff ride...Sounds like your set up is the way..Would it be possible to see a couple pics and get the measurement from center of hub to bottom of fender?? I would really appreciate it.

Of course! We're planning on installing the lift tomorrow morning! I should be able to have a pic up by the afternoon!

This is how it sits right now. you can see the 265/75/R16 's are squeezed in there. I got the 2012 tacoma wheels powder coated which I really like. they are not gloss which I am very happy with. The offset of the wheels led me to getting some spidertraxx spacers (lug centric) and they are working out great. I heard a bunch of people talking about how lug centric spacers will make your truck vibrate violently and I was very nervous about getting them (I have manual hubs so I had to get lug centric). 1000 miles No vibrations and this little truck drives amazing. I'm pretty sure the front struts are original and I still don't get any wheel vibes at all. enough with my rant

I am very anxious to see what your lift will be.
I have a std cab too but with the 100lb +/- Bull bar from ARB.
    10mm is about 3/8".
I may just stick with my 2881s and find some enhancers two.
    Post pics asap!!!

since hook's law for spring constants states f=kx, a 100 lb bumper would not add much . lets say the distance is 2.5 feet forward, the extra deflection in your springs as opposed to mine would be :

    100 lbm * 3.5 ft/32.2 lbm/lbf = 500 (lb/in) * x (in) * 2 (springs)

    100(2.5)/2/500 = 0.11 in deflection per spring

keep in mind this an approximation due to the fact that the center of mass of the bumper may be closer or further than 2.5 in from each spring and your bumper may weigh more or less than 100 lb, but if you can live with your truck sitting about 1/10 in less than mine in the front you should go for it. I'll have pics up tomorrow afternoon if everything goes okay.

Whats the max that you can go with top spacers (above the top plate) with Bilstein 5100s before the shock itself will bottom out?

Got the lift on today. More pics to come, the lighting outside was really bad. Just about the only thing that went wrong was I had to cut the exhaust

    I'm not really sure.

I don't have the measurements of my lift in front of me, but I got at least 3" up front. Maybe a little more than I need but it will probably be perfect once it settles in

Congrats, and your results are good news for me. Most importantly how's the ride?

Thanks man. The alignment is out of course but we took it out and it handles great. Firm but not too firm at all. Right where it needs to be to keep the tires planted nicely. Handling around turns is far superior. Way better!

The height is definitely at the limit of the uca's. any more lift and there would be problems.

My favorite part about the lift is it made my windows darker ;)

I have Billys on the rear... Just curious.

Hey thanks man! If you have a prerunner then you are definetely lighter in the front end and I woul consider te 881's that I have. I can't rember if it was the 882 or 883 that is a longe spring, but I think the 883 is longer. I haven't done any research on the weight comparison of my truck to yours, so definetely talk to Dan, he will know exactly what to do.

95% because they are cheaper and 5% because yellow is really ugly... Just being honest!

I made a LOT of assumption in my calculation earlier. I think the COM of the vehicle may be a little further back and the real-world deflection caused by a 100 lb bumper may be closer to 3/16 or 1/4" with my setup :)

Thanks for the feedback, let me know how it goes!

Those racks are great! I had them on both of my 4runners. I guess they hold their resale value too ;)

I will keep you posted.. I sent an email to him already...

    Lighter than yours?

I researched the engines and it looks like about 100-150lb weight difference there.

I'm thinking all the 4x4 components will almost make up for the added weight of your double cab... But my engine is lighter.

searching OME, came across this: You mentioned this also... 881 & 882 same rate, 500lbs but the 882s almost an inch taller..Will let you know what Dan says..
What are your plans about the Taco lean? Can you add another enhancer?
I need to mention that to him also.
