Found wiring harness and shell mounting brackets at: Truck Outfitters Plus
The local camper dealer wanted $66.00 for 4 clamps. They sell at the Outfitters for $7.95 each

Just ordered my Leer 100XR. How are you all keeping the bed locked with '12s and up with the back-up camera? I'm mostly going to be camping in this thing and I want to make sure I can lock it all up.

Looking to get a Leer 100XQ for my 2013 access cab. Do I need to get a lock for the tailgate or will the rear window lock be enough? Looked through the post but could not find if someone else asked the same question. Thanks

I would get a lock for the tailgate. Pop n lock has one that has a BOLT locking cylinder in it that will work with your truck key.

I have a Leer 180CC with a RackIt 3000 Rack, and I found I could open the tailgate with the shell closed and locked. Granted the rack lifts the shell about 3/4", so this might not be as much of a problem with just the shell. But I would recommend the Pop N Lock, I have the new Bolt Code-able model on mine.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
terrible pic, but my new to me shell. lower model ARE. pretty basic. since the inside is unfinished, i'm going to bed line the inside when it warms up. also going to flat the outside (currently BSP). just ordered a new LED 3rd brake light and lock assembly.

I take mine through the touch less car wash that really puts out a stiff spray. Not a drop on the inside. You might check the seals and see if one slipped. Or get inside the shell with the door shut and have someone pressure wash the shell. That should help you identify the problem area.

    Just starting...
I had a pop-n-lock, but I also got a shell with a lock tied into truck's keyless entry. After about a year I realized I hadn't been locking the tailgate. With the Leer's I can't get the tailgate open, but with the tailgate unlocked it moves a bit when you try. I suppose someone might conclude that if the tailgate moves a little, they can force it open.

However, on the Leer XQ (previous truck) or XL (this truck) there is nothing to grab on the shell - just a little flat piece of plastic that twists. No handles.

So, I suppose someone COULD force the tailgate open. But they could use a crowbar on the shell, too. The shell with a glass door is still limited security.

But I feel the same way about convertibles. Then again, my friends who have had convertibles broken into didn't have someone take a knife to the soft top. They just broke the passenger window.

A Tonneau cover that locks is going to be more secure than any shell with windows I'm afraid.
