    You two could share :notsure:

:woot: Welcome fellow camper! What sort of gear do you have? Anything you can't leave home without?

 Lyme in MT is still pretty rare but those little tick critters freak me the hell out! I had one lodged in my scalp when I was a kid and had to have it removed by a doctor. And then I had two of them on me a couple of years ago - they hadn't bitten me but were crawling on my skin. I almost wrecked the truck trying to get them off of me - I didn't realize they were on me until I was on the highway headed for home!

Stuff and things that make it better.
Lyme disease is found though out the U.S. but sadly doctors don't look for it unless they are in a state that is considered to be a high endemic area. Most of the time it goes undiagnosed until the patient takes it upon themselves to find an answer to their symptoms. I just try to wear long pants and thick socks if am going to be tromping through the woods.

On a happier note, MTgirl if your still looking for some front mud flaps, I got a set that are just sitting around, if you pay for shipping they are yours.

I got mine online. With that Browning I don't know if they come out with a new version every year like Kelty did, so I'm not sure if that tent will ever been on clearence....but I'm sure Cabelas will have a spring sale pretty soon at the very least.

Ticks are an everyday occurrence in our woods in spring/summer/fall. One time I hit a swarm of deer ticks so thick my leg looked like it was moving.

I used to have to pick them off our dogs when I was a kid growing up before all the new repellents came out. Once you've picked a couple hundred out you kinda lose the fear and just realize it's a fact of life you have to deal with.

I do the opposite. Sandals and shorts so I can feel them crawling up my leg. it's been a long time since one has crawled past my shorts  :D

Fuck that I hate fucking ticks. I get them on me every once in a while and scream like a little girl, and then I take vengeance and stab them! Lucky for us though there are areas that are tick freeish.

I have to agree. Anything crawling on me I hate. I pretty much grew up in the woods by my cabin. And can honestly say I've never seen one on me. That I noticed!

I've found ticks on a few deer in the last couple of years! My cat has brought a few home with him, but none on me so far!:D

The last personal contact I had with them was when I lived in Winchester Va. Clearing brush for the high school sports complex down there gave those little fockers access to me! Back then I smoked cigarettes! The hot ash was a fantastic removal tool !:D

    They give me the Heebie-Jeebies!
